Smart move. So many gyms will stay where they are and let the fighters come to them. Moving closer to where new talent is constantly being discovered is awesome. I just hope they don’t take advantage with the management side of things.

For reals that's literally just as good idea or even better. All these wrestling dominate states need to get the kids in it younger. By the time most of these college level wrestlers retire and go into MMA it's always playing catch up in terms of the BJJ and striking. Those takes years to develop as well.

MMA needs people like Dan Lambert the same way it needs the UFC

ATT has been recruiting specialists, particularly in grappling for training their MMA fighters and helping them transition to MMA since before Colby. And Colby is a prime example of that. ATT has their (dorm, fighter turned in house coach) systems that they've been running for at least a decade now. Colby was one of the first generation of young wrestlers ATT invested. Look at how well he turned out. Bo Nickal is the new generation...

My son goes there, they are SO GOOD with kids! Very impressed dad over here!

The guy helping Bo cut the ribbon is Marcel Ferreira a multiple BJJ world Champ and MMA legend. UFC should have acknowledged his name as well. He is part owner of the gym. One of the nicest guys you can meet.

I live pretty close to main campus and I'm a Notre Dame fan! Having said that when it comes to ameteur) collegiate wrestling there is no other program. This was a brilliant move by Dan Lambert and ATT!

I live in State College and PSU just churns out so many insanely good wrestlers. It's going to be great to have a facility and good coaches nearby for them to develop after their collegiate wrestling career.

It's nice seeing another MMA gym (especially one as renowned as ATT) come to central PA, we're pretty dry here when it comes to gyms but there's a bunch of hungry young people around the area who want to get into MMA but don't have many options. I'm really hoping ATT can help liven up the MMA community around the area

Dude they could definitely do this at Oklahoma State and Iowa. They would develop more great fighters and more story lines between rival college wrestling teams that would transfer to MMA would be natural.

It really does.

This place is actually about 10 miles away from Penn State. So someone saw a dilapidated barn and had a light bulb moment that the barn could turn into an MMA gym.
