I was watching UFC when Forest Griffin came into the picture. Don't let the years passed by and competition today, sway your mind. He took that belt beating notable fighters, in their prime, in that era. You don't win belts being anything less. Forest Griffin was elite in that era. GSP retired with 37 being afraid that he will be embarrassed by the oncoming competition, chose a pre retirement Bisping to fight, such a joke. Silva is the GOAT, GSP is very much not.

In the first Chael fight, Anderson went in there with the specific intention to submit Chael because he was talking shit about his jiu jitsu trainer; in the 2nd fight, Anderson knocked him out.

@jomiloju ayodele that's ridiculous, those are not the facts my guy. First off, he was Brazil's best player in 2 world cups (1958 and 1970) not just 1. Second, football was harder to play back then - terrible field conditions, heavy ball, heavy boots, no foul cards (Pele was hunted a lot) so you offside/var point is mute. Third, Brazilian league was the best at the time. Brazil had a bunch of superstars in several top teams (which is why the world cup team was so strong) and Pele beat all of them on a regular basis as the best player on the Santos team. He left to the US way pas his prime - his career there is irrelevant.

I think Silva's EQ is amazing. He has an ability to understand and mess with your mind. Alot of those guys probably felt beaten before they entered the cage which reflected how tense they were IMO.

The difference between Izzy and Silva is Silva was a risk taker and never had a boring fight.

Than Sonnen went on to lose to Silva again & than after that he went on to get easily dominated by Jones who used Sonnen's own strategy against him and than after that Rashad Evans smashed him outta The UFC.

only considering there performances IN the Octagon 1a) Jon Jones (most dominant wins in UFC History) 1b) Anderson Silva (most spectacular wins in UFC history) 2) George St.Pierre (most consistent performances in UFC history) 3) BJ Penn ( most "is he even trying" wins in UFC history) reason why Silva and Jones stand above the rest there competition legitimately did not think they could beat them outside of chael delusional sonnen everytime there opponent lost you looked at there face and you could see without them saying a word they were thinking "I dont want a rematch". now if i take the ENTIRE MMA world 1) Fedor 2) Jon Jones 3) Anderson Silva 4) GSP

@@Iliad05 Similar level of competition under there belt except Fedor had many more fights due to how many times people fought back then. Couple that with Jon Jones Prime Juicing (as opposed to Anderson being "caught" well out of his prime) so Jon Jones loses some points for that. Now Jon Jones was easily on the path to eclipsing every MMA fighter easily in history... i mean hes still #2 all time to me and thats with his checkered career and the fact hes still fighting somewhat in his prime.

My father was one of the biggest fan of Silva and so I ❤️ I love how he ends the fight with mercy ❤️

Still blown away at how chael graciously gifted him that choke to make it seem like he won, expected nothing less from west Lin’s finest. Undefeated undisputed champion of the division

Watching prime Silva was just pure magic, you never knew what what was going to happen. The Michael Jordan of MMA imo, his highlight reel is second to none

I remember watching the Sandman and Silva fight. My 15 year old self was in complete awe, not at the way he grabbed his leg from the kick but how quick that counter shot was. It was the first time I had ever watched Silva fight. This fight always will stick with me.

@@smhgaming3259 if you don't know it, he cheated BJ PENN in their first match. GSP is known at the time as a complete martial artist and and a very good grappler but BJ is phenomenal on his back. What did GSP did to disable PENN's ability to defend on his back? He put fucking vaseline on his back.

We brazilians do not like trash talking and show business of UFC. It's cultural. So after Chael Sonnen he was really upset with organization. There's no specific rule on ranking. Money talks, specially those who used to spill bs all the time and millions on ppv revenues. C. Sonnen fought twice with him but really didn't deserve it. There were best fighters at that time and after that I think he just went to the cage because he had a contract that obligated him on some more fights

In his PRIME he was the GOAT when you factor in stylistic finishes. I witnessed his entire UFC career. He was miles above the rest. Not only in the striking realm but he also showed a lot of creative ground work off his back. After he broke his shin he was never the same.

I was in the Ale house and people were holding USA flags celebrating Sonnen's victory. Half of the restaurant were going for Sonnen and the other half for Silva.. it was insane! I'll never forget that experience.
