Your thought is based on recency bias, as the thoughts of many are, when it comes to sports. Jon Jones is the #1 p4p fighter. Jones isnt ducking anyone, the fight with Stipe was a long time coming and Jones hasnt refused to fight anyone AFTER that. Also you damn well know a lot of politics comes into fighting matchups in the UFC. Some people wait longer than is fair for championship fights, and others get parachuted in earlier than they deserve.

Islam doesn’t really fight that much like Khabib. Much more technical and selective striking. Khabib is just unrelenting pressure and Islam is just an absolute complete fighter with the proficiency in grappling. No rushing in, not excellent GNP but such patient striking and unbelievable submissions. Both phenomenal.

Poirier had a tremendous chance against oliviera and he was winning until he started making amateur mistakes. Poirier actually dropped oliviera 3 times in the 1st round, I know they only scored 1 officially but the official offten makes mistakes like not scoring geathje dropping max in the 4th. There was three moments in the 1st round where oliviera hands touched the canvas from a punch from Poirier.

Two of the judges tonight both have super long track records of stupid stupid things.

Dana as well as many others still are not respecting how dominant Islam has been over the past 5 years. Aside from 2 rounds in the first Volk fight and 1 round in this Dustin fight, Islam has made everything look easy. Jon may be the GOAT but Islam is the most dominant and active current champion. Jon fought for 2 minutes in the last 4+ years and he arguably lost in that previous fight against Reyes in 2020.

Dana was full of nonsense when he talked about p4p. p4p means if everyone was in the same weight class who wins. P4p list isn't like the goat list or status, p4p is just about who is the best fighter currently and it can change from 1 fight to the other... P4p is based on recency and recent wins, not wins you had 20 years ago. Jon jones is competing in the worst devision in the ufc ever heavyweight , and in his last 3 fights he was fighting 2 journey man and 1 striker with zero wrestling, plus Jones should have lost to two of them (Reyes and Santos) two journey. And Santos came in that fight with both of his legs broken and was still outstriking jones clearly . On the other hand we have Islam who is competing in the greatest devision in ufc history (lightweight) at 155 there's at least 10 fighters that are more skilled than jon jones in every generation, and that a fact. If jones was at 155 he would be a drew dober level fighter. Plus Islam's last 4 fights where against fighters ranked in the top 3 p4p) oliviera was ranked number 3,and volk 1 and then 2 in the rematch), looking at Islam' s last 4 fights it's very very clearle he us the current p4p. dan white talks about volk being smaller than Islam OK well how about Santos who was also smaller than jon jones? Santos was a middleweight for most of his career and between 185 and 205 it 20 pounds unlike 145 and 155 which is only 10. And lets not forget volkanovski was the p4p king when islam beat him twice where as Santos who beat up jones was only a journey man...

Agreed. Dana talk about how boxing is corrupted but UFC is just another entity exploiting the fighting sport. UFC makes hundreds of millions, yet the fighters collectively don't even earn a million. People aren't asking the them to give everything to the fighters and ignore the business aspect, but a fair percentage of the earnings should be allocated to the fighters, with a larger portion going to the winners.
