The reason Dana has become this obsessed with Jon Jones is because when Ngannou left the ufc he needed to convince everyone that Jon Jones was the best to shut down any conversation that someone who is not in the ufc could be the best heavy weight. That conversation is no longer present but Dana pushed this narrative for so long he has convinced himself and his ego feels threatened any time somebody challenges him on it

And no, Jones vs Stipe isn't a huge ppv sell by default, that's why Dana is trying to promote Jones this much. It wasn't an instant crowd pull in 2023, and Stipe's stock now is even lower than then.

Dana insinuating that Pereira might be too small for HW is crazy. Dude showed up at 230 for this fight. He could put on an additional 10 lbs and fit right in. Stipe was only slightly heavier when he was on his title run.

I think attitude has a lot to do with it. Apparently Arlovski is real pissed about it being his last fight. He wanted to continue and probably will at another promotion. Whereas Waterson comes off as very grateful and thankful for the opportunity. But I agree pitbul was a pioneer and former champ so deserves more love than he’s getting.

Since JJ has not fought in one year and three months, he cannot possibly be number one on that list. There are no hard rules, but these rankings are usually based on current standings and current performance. Jon has not fought in over a year. He arguably lost fights (Silva, Reyes. Obviously he killed Gane). He is holding back the division and he is also ducking the interim champ Aspinall hard. Instead he is taking a fight with an old fire fighter. What JJ is probably #1 on, is the GOAT list. His career achievements make it hard to argue that. On my personal list I still have Khabib or GSP above him.

Does Dana ever get defensive over Jon Jones, it's pretty sad really.
