I think khabib is a very close 2nd in the GOAT conversation. Jon Jones has to be #1. The age that he reached the highest level, fighting at 205 is way more dangerous then 155. Defending the title as many times as he did. Khabib is 29-0 but came into the UFC already 16-0 where as Jon was only 6-0. Beating DC twice. Khabib doesn’t have the names on his resume. He beat Conor who lost to Dustin, Dustin lost to Olivera. DC was the double champ and got KOed by Jon. If you separate all the drugs and criminal issues that Jon is known for (which has nothing to do with the actual sport) then it’s clear he’s the GOAT. He should be 28-0 and most of that was done in the UFC. Not handpicked fights in Russia

Andrew Clarke 100 percent. The real goat is Jon Jones but you can argue that Khabib is also the goat. Jon Jones has some fights that many people thought he lost like Dominick Reyes. The thing is with Khabib It was complete domination every fight. Never any controversy. Also JJ tested positive for steroids once sadly.

Examples being Dustin, Conor, Gaethje. Big names yes, also overrated with no wrestling. He knew he would have lost it if he had fought Khabib or even Tony. The UFC made sure he had a easy ride and used his name to get young fans in. In my few a champ defends his or her belt. Conor is the only UFC fighter in its history who never defend his belts based on running away.

Khabib is the best 155 I have seen. His ground game was just beyond good. He is one of the goats of all time. Never had issues in the UFC never moan about pay or demanding he should be paid more. His mind set was ' if you want paid more you have to earn it and prove you are worth the money'. He would fly over from Russia and stay at his friends friends house as he could not afford a hotel, Outside the cage he never brought shame on the UFC, Respected himself and the UFC. When fighters said there were done Dana would say ' if a fighter does not want to fight anymore then they should go.' When Khabib left Dana did everything to get him back.

The Greatest 🦅

There are monumental periods in the history of sports and Khabib being certainly one of them. The one who never bled in the arena yet conquered it so dominantly like no one else before him! Never to be repeated or anyone come close to his excellency, the all-time king of MMA!

Khabib is the best fighter in the world (GSP’s words, not mine, but I agree with him). Amazing career. Things he does outside of the octagon are even better (charity, his own promotion for fighters, coaching young people, etc)

The reason he’s the goat is because if you have that much grappling skill, you literally can’t lose. It’s the style everyone will wish they can emulate but they probably won’t be able to because he was just that good. Every Khabib fight looked the exact same. Domination via grappling that slowly turned into a beat down. The way he was able to control his opponents’ body was unbelievable. Easily the most skilled fighter I’ve ever seen.

He is a momentum in history. Just like Mohammad Ali

Even though he left. People get to see his legacy through his teammates that still on the rise
