Спорт

Jose Aldo joined WEC in 2008 with a 10-1 professional record and left the promotion at the end of 2010 at 18-1 while in the process of being promoted to UFC bantamweight champion to start 2011.

His run was legitimately the same as Khabibs was. If Aldo retired after fighting Mark Hominik (three title defenses)then he would have been just as dominant as Khabib had been. (Jose aldo would have been 19-1 but even then half of Khabibs wins are cans so there's that) Also if you don't count WEC then after his win over Chad Mendes the first time (Three ufc Title defenses) he would be 21-1 and still just as dominant as Khabib.

This isn't even counting after three title defenses if he retired after his seventh UFC Title defense Chad Mendes 2 then he would have been 25-1. Granted people would have said he ducked mcgregor but that's what people are saying about how Khabib ducked Charles Olivera.

WEC was awesome growing up. So many wars. So many upsets. So many talented fighters that ended up having long successful careers. I remember being 11 years old and always watching it when it was on. One of the craziest moments I saw was The first fight Mike brown had with urijah faber. it was such a huge deal at the time. Brown came in and upset Faber who was the face of the company. The golden boy of WEC. The California Kid. On top of that it proved not just to be an upset when Mike Brown ended up beating faber twice. after the second Win over Uriah and second title defense it had then landed him on a 10 fight win streak. Strong powerful wrestler with a big right hand. I Didn’t know who was gonna stop him. He was just a solid tough fighter. Strong as an OX. Then this Brazilian dude José Aldo came in like a tidal wave and practically jogged his way to a championship fight. After destroying everyone in front of him Aldo then went in there and made easy work of Mike Brown as you can see. Props to Mike for winning the belt and defending it twice. Guy for sure had an unbelievable run. It’s just that at a young age I realized there is different levels to MMA. Jose was just on another tier. Mike Brown for sure made a statement though. WEC champ with 2 wins over Faber. Guy was a stud. All in all though…Jose’s run through WEC of pure Dominance was one of my favorite moments growing up while first getting into MMA. The guy just seemed to have the complete package. He could do it all. Killer instinct and everything. Just a young hungry fighter who was on some assassin shit in the cage. I couldn’t even believe what I was watching. No wonder he is now a hall of famer. One of the best to ever do it. One of my favorite fighters ever.
