American comentators in a nutshell lmao half of Connors fame came from Americans all claiming theyre "off Irish ancestry" even if theyre a mixture of 16 different nationalities, never been to Ireland etc but anyways the minute an Irish fighter showed up he became INSTANTLY popular (like literally, the first and second fights he had in UFC the crowd went MAD while he was barely proven yet) and same applies for commentators lmao A LOT of them had a huge bias towards McGregor regardless of his skill.

I just watched it again maybe my 5th time and was wondering why do people keep saying Connor won 1 round? Was it the 3rd? Khabib was toying that round on stand up and still I give it 10-9 to kabib. 2nd rd I give it 10-8.

I'm not a massive Joe Rogan fan nowadays even though I used to be, but his commentary is absolutely on point and he always manages to give an accurate summary of events.

Every once in a month I come here to witness another part again after my MMA training. Truly a piece of art.

One of my favorite fights ever. I love when bullies eat their words.

Couldn’t agree more. Was working at a casino at the time that showed the fight in the 500 capacity auditorium. Was 1 of 3 people in the room rooting for Khabib. Almost got fired the next day because of how drunk and crazy I got because he won. Amazing night.

UFC217 in my book but this one is up there. GSP v Bisping, Dillashaw v Garbrandt, Rose v Joanna, Wonderboy v Masvidal, Hendricks v Costa even the pre-prelims were stacked...

This is one of the most iconic fights in combat sports history. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years since this masterpiece happened and yet still we all talk about it. Now matter how old this fight gets, it will always be remembered and talked about

As funny as it is, he is right even Khabib admitted it. But only thing wrong he said was that it was Conor somehow doing it 😂 but it was Khabib who was half the round throwing massive shots at Conor round 2 purely out of rage and it kinda got him gassed so he took a round of in 3rd. And mind you Khabib could have easily got a sub by Kimura in round 2 also he had it.

“Let’s talk now” from Kabib towards the end was one of the best things I’ve ever heard in my life.

A fight I've watched hundreds of times

This fight was a critical one in UFC history. When Khabib jumped out of that cage, as Khabib once said himself, the sport of MMA especially the UFC jumped over to another level with him. He was so right. No wonder this was the biggest fight in UFC history.

Connor had a knack for hitting people real hard with his left punch which was the complete opposite of Khabib's wrestling tactics. The fight wasn't entertaining enough cause Khabib always took every opponent down to the ground whereas watching Connor or Tony Ferguson was always much more fun

This was hands down the most insane fight/sporting event I have and will ever see in my life. Period. The build up, the dark energy from start to finish. The evolution of the sport after. A true catalyst that launched the UFC into the next dimension. It felt like a war almost. But it was only 2 men.

@@ybench5871something I always find hilarious about ufc fans is how you guys cry about cheating so much but ignore the fact that every fighter is basically cheating when they decide to cut weight and fight undersized people, wrestlers in particular. Conor and Colby are some of the only few who decided to fight at their natural weight class and ironically they’re the most hated bc of stuff outside of the cage.

Lots of hype, drama, emotion etc. During the build up, fight and aftermath. But as for the fight itself, I wouldn't say it's the greatest MMA fight of all time, not even close in my opinion. I don't think it's on the same level of Lawler-Macdonald 2, Jiri-Glover, the Figgy-Moreno fights and many others. Although it was a good fight.

He did exactly that (on the ground). His stand-up game was/is average. No wonder he stopped fighting and didn't move up in weight class. He knows that his only strength is grappling and he'd simply get knocked out.
