So much respect for Jan. 99.9% of fighters who know they lost will still act like they deserved it in a win or draw situation. The fact that he keeps it real is extremely honorable. He only wants the victory if he truly feels he earned it.

That is not true. Ankalev lost the first three rounds based on the damage that was caused clearly. After that he started grappling and even scored a 10-8 in the last round being lucky that Jan totally overreacted. If he wouldn't have gone down by this. We tend to score the last rounds stronger than the rest, but this is not the rulebook.

the judging was correct to be honest. it doesnt matter if you dominate two rounds and lose three rounds closely. the fight is not scored as a whole. and he even got the 10-8 by two judges although the damage was not very significant in round 5. i think a draw is the correct way to go. of course Jan felt like loosing after getting dominated the last two rounds. And casual observers don't give the same weight to the first and last round but these are the rules. look at the damage after three rounds. Jan had zero damage, ankalev two legs down and his head busted. Clearly Jan won the three rounder. two rounds domination are not enough.

I felt really bad for him that night cuz he’s my favorite fighter and everyone throws that word robbery out so loose that was a CLEAR robbery, if you look at the end they even show the stats. Ankoliev actually thought he won when he was interviewed & doesn’t know why he’s not getting the belt. It still hasn’t hit his mind that it was a draw yet. Also the translator didn’t translate the last part correctly, He said something along the lines that he has nothing to say, he has no words & very sad atm. He left the octagon crying & tia sad.

he is legit crying walking out the octagon. I feel so bad for the guy, not a cocky fighter, just pure hardwork, look how happy he is after that 5th round, not even the kind of cocky one, he is legit happy that he really thought he won.

Made adjustments to not lose. The draw was fair. Yeah it hurts that he took so much and still didnt get it but, he lost the first 3. How would it be fair if they gave Ankalaev the belt for only taking 2 rounds?

@@GothicLeviathanAnkalaev outstruck Blachowicz in rounds 1, 3, 4, and 5 and overall by more than 2:1 (191:79). That’s decisive. Even if you somehow give R3 to Blachowicz, there is no case to be made for rounds 1, 4, and 5 with R5 likely being a 10-8 as Blachowicz had zero offense and was very close to having the fight stopped. Judging was atrocious and both fighters knew it.

@@BrianForTheWin outstruck him with stats but Jan was by far doing the better work. Ankalaev didnt hurt Jan once. All three judges gave Jan round 1, 2 of them round 3. Why Cleary didnt give Jan the 3rd is beyond me because Jan was far more successful in that round. Yeah you can look at the stats which Ankalaev had on his side but as far as the strikes how successful was he with those? Not very.

@@GothicLeviathan What can I say, judges got R1 wrong. Ankalaev had more total and significant strikes than Blachowicz by a comfortable margin with no decisive damage advantage either way. Yes, the leg kicks were heavy and effective in R2 and early R3, but to what end? Only this: shifting the fight to a place where Jan had zero offense and got taken apart for over 2 rounds-culminating in him being about 3 headshots from having Goddard waive him out. For damage to really count in a decisive fight altering way it has to turn the fight in your favor not be the prelude to you getting completely dominated for over 10 minutes.
