Whats funny is the people that defend her new found accent. Its one thing to be infleunced by people you hang around, but you dont lose your native tongue and accent in a year. Shes literally doing it on purpose, the proof is when she often drops the accent and speaks in a perfect american accent, then the next day its back to favela speech. Its just so fake. Accents and you knowing languages just doesnt work like this lol. American jamaicans often turn it on and off, and thats fine cool and normal, dern literally puts on an act

@@deeprinse149 In fact i Am Brasilian and my family actually is tri lingual we speak Portuguese, English and French. Nice try tho fam. So i speak as a literal Brasilian, from Ipatinga, Minas Gerais, born and raised. My point is, if you are american and lived there forever, this doesnt happen. In fact, there are TONS of videos of her when she was young, then a late teen and early 20s, she sounds like a typical american white girl, i learned english and hung around english speaking people and i did not lose my accent nor did my brasilian get worse. She goes from speaking perfect english with a typical accent, to literally 8 months later she can barley speak it and has a thick brazilian accent. LOL

@@Christian-ir6qv that is not true. You don’t develop a new accent in one year, or even 10 years for that matter. There has never been one reputable linguist that has made this claim. A UFC example; Darren Till lived in Brazil longer than Dern and does not talk like Anderson Silva.

Her striking is getting better all the time. However she can't fall in love with it like so many other grapplers turned strikers do, because that's when they start losing as they get picked apart by more technical strikers and underutilize their grappling. To be a Champ nowadays even in the women's divisions you need to mix up your striking and grappling.

Found out she and my sister went to high school together a few months ago lol

HOLAND had one crazy reversal when he was under and close to the fence in half guard. Other than that, he showed *NO THING* ; I would not pay to see him fight. VETTORI reminded me of BLACHOWICZ against ADESANYA or MIOCIC against N’GANNOU 1 - essentially, the recipe to beat strikers. Take them down. As far as I’m concerned, DERN has the finish of the night (or maybe the Miley CYRUS guy with that rear naked choke , the other dude passed out before he could tap, that was nasty) and ALLEN has the performance of the night - basically taught YUSUF how to win a bout, he took two rounds and hugged for the entire third round.

Mackenzie Dern is a warrior. Her Papa is literally Wellington "Megaton" Dias, a Portugese Brazilian Jiu Jitsu legend. Good luck to her for embracing her paternal lineage, she is no Hilary Baldwin.
