    I'm not really a Rousey fan but what Rousey's haters like to forget is that there wouldn't even be women's UFC if it wasn't for her.

    GearsDemon I agree that the McMann stoppage was too early, Herb Dean is a good ref but he was being overly cautious in that stoppage. I was hoping that the UFC would have set up this rematch already. While I can't say that McMann would win a rematch, she is a beast and I think she would at least last longer the 2nd go round ... Cat Zigano too for that matter.

  • @touchmyfanny
    @touchmyfanny9 жыл бұрын

    I don't understand why it's hard to go back to back into training camp. It's not like powerlifting or bodybuilding. Shouldn't your body be conditioned to endure that type of training year round, especially if they are on gear?.. I'm always confused when fighters look sad when they find out they have to fight few months later. Shit. I would take a fight every card if I was the best

    Rest is vital for the body, that's one, two, if you're fighting on a world class level, you'll most likely get injured during a fight. and as a fighter, their body is the most important thing to them. that's what makes the money. I'd rather get well rested and fight 2/3 times a year than risk my whole career for quick money.

  • @touchmyfanny

    @touchmyfanny

    9 жыл бұрын

    That's pretty obvious. But if they are world class in a fight, they're expected to get injured. It's basics of the sport. But if you're top of your game, like the champion, you should be the best fighter in the world, especially how belt contenders are chosen.

  • @roadrunnerblink

    @roadrunnerblink

    9 жыл бұрын

    Yeah but fighting is a little bit different than powerlifting/bodybuilding. Although those sports are both extremely physically demanding and draining on the body, it is easier to maintain your 'peak condition' ready for a lifting competition or a body building show. Powerlifting and bodybuilding do not require you to take repeated heavy blows to the head every other day in sparring. If any fighter new that they had to get in the ring everyday all year round, they simply wouldn't be able to do it. The other thing is that, if you have a bad day powerlifting, so what, maybe you wasted a day and have to make up for it. But if you have a bad day sparring (you actually can't afford to have a bad day sparring) then chances are you get knocked out or possibly cut badly. Bear in mind that a fight can take up to 25 minutes. Clean and jerk / snatch takes a couple of seconds. Anyway, this is why fighters can only give it absolutely everything they've got for a couple of months to prepare for the intense situation that is fighting another human being, and then go back to regular training. Hope that helps. :)

  • @sp123

    @sp123

    9 жыл бұрын

    You can only train in high intensity for a fight up to eight weeks before your body starts to drop in stamina, reflexes, etc. Training hard all the time without a fight lined up would be counterproductive because you want to perform your best on a particular night, not perform decently over several days,

  • @nitemareman1

    I think she's a little crazy. It may not be in a good way either. Retire undefeated? If she fights to 35 I highly doubt it. It may be that she has some idea of another 4 or 5 fights or something but if she keeps at it even for just a few more years she'll be beaten. She's a human being and someone will learn how to win against her. Hell, it could be Cat this Sat. She's never faced anyone with striking remotely like Cat's.

  • @Kudzu702

    @Kudzu702

    She will almost for sure retire very young. She's such a super star and has already gotten modeling and movie deals. She could no doubt become a women's mma analyst also. Her career now is a lot more than just fighting and honestly I don't think she has much more to prove in the octagon.

  • @nitemareman1

    @nitemareman1

    9 жыл бұрын

    I mean if it's just money you want, sure she can be a third rate actor and a sort of side show model or whatever, but if you say you're the best in the world and then quit early that's an asterisk as far as I'm concerned. Like Laila Ali learned because no one ever talks about her being great even though she retired undefeated- you can't dodge fights, even by quitting. I say fight. That's where the most money is and even a loss in MMA isn't a big deal as long as the heart is genuine.

  • @Kudzu702

    @Kudzu702

    9 жыл бұрын

    Fighting is certainly not where the most money is and I really don't know what else you want from her. She's already one of the most dominant champions in mma history and if she defends her title a couple more times I think she should retire. Also, she's going to be remembered regardless of when she retires. Without her, womens mma would not be where it is today.
