    24 minute analysis for a 13 second fight lmao

  • @NorwegianBrawler
    @NorwegianBrawler5 жыл бұрын

    17:50, Hardy says “I don’t know how Jose stayed up”. He was throwing a leg kick, but for most people not knowing (and I’m shocked Hardy didn’t pick up on it) The Thai’s often step the lead foot to the left before throwing the kick, creating an angle (moving their head off the centerline, which more IMPORTANTLY is shorting the distance of the kick). I think that one little step to the left before he threw the kick allowed him to not be square to his opponent. So when he shot, his angle was bad, and there wasn’t the leverage he would’ve needed to finish his single because he was too far to the side.

    That moment you realize the reason Conor was playing touch-butt in the park was so that he wouldn't need to check those leg kicks but intead could bounce back and away from them and then back in again to work his range. Conor and his coach are brilliant. Too bad it didn't work on Nate because Conor likes to lean back but the long range of Nate's arm with the slap just had him slapping Conor everytime he tried to lean away.

    They touch upon the issue of leg kicks and yet don't show how easy it was for Siver to floor McGregor with them. He was on the mat withing 50 seconds of their fight and has the fact that Siver is a slow fighter to thank for getting back up. I respect Dan and his insight into these fights, but that's a major oversight.

    +David Doerksen Im not denying that aldo is better at takedown defence, but if you want to compare Conor vs Mendes and Aldo's last fight against Mendes, you can see that Conor knocked Mendes out in the second round. while Aldo vs Mendes lasted 5 rounds. Aldo looked so beat up you couldnt recognise him, while conor just had a little scratch above his eye.. look at the press conferanse after Conor vs mendes fight and it looks like conor just came home from a vacation :P

  • @Mike-em7nz

    @Mike-em7nz

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Ola dambo that 2 weeks excuse makes a hell of a lot of difference especially compared to someone who has months of training. and Aldo has a sick ground game he just chooses not to use it. its hard to say that mendes is the #1 wrestler he hasnt shown a lot of his ability there. Aldo can easily submit fighters but what fight fan wants to see a fight end that quick and that boring? mcgregor wouldve had a much harder fight with mendes had mendes went through a full camp. mcgregor has been beat before so he cant say hes unbeatable like he has been saying

  • @abecore

    This show, along with the Embedded series is by far the best material uploaded on YT. I think Conor's right hand uppercut can be a key counter to Aldo's right inside leg kick, especially if Conor feints with a left straight to get Aldo to throw that inside kick to get Aldo to lean right into the uppercut. Aldo can also pivot into a short right hook since Conor loves to pressure forward, especially if Aldo finds himself backed against the cage where Conor does his best work. Besides all the hype, this fight is a masterpiece of two highly skilled technicians with excellent fight IQ and razor fast reflexes. Can't wait for Saturday night!!!

    Seems like the best fighters are often counter strikers, those who are on a whole other level, like Silva and now Connor. Excellent analyziz. Its definitely important to have a gameplan on how you want to take down your opponent. One thing is Connor predicting what will happen, but he´s also so focused on making it happen, on that being his gameplan. Thats so important and he´s very good at doing that successfully.

    +peka400 i don't think he meant "just as good" literally. He spends the next three minutes showing how the two have the same style and mindset on defending take downs. In the way this fight should go down, neither one of them will be defending double legs anyway. If there is any grappling, it'll be scrambles. In the context of what this fight will be, their take down defenses will be the same. I believe he misspoke.

    Been waiting for this fight for a long time now. At this point in the game, I think the belt can go for either fighter. May the best man win.

    The analysis was 24 mins and the fight only 13 seconds. Great stuff from Connor. I would have liked to see the fight go longer to see how Connor would have dealt with Aldo attacks. But that's the beauty of the fight game - you never really know how it will play out.........

    Everyone saying aldo or Mcgregor will kill or murder or have an easy win over the other is crazy. Clearly aldo is tough, no need to go in depth there and mcgregor is the guy that no one could ever go the distance with and pretty much dominated everyone, it's going to be a war and it's a 50/50 chance that anyone could win.

    Siver's takedowns aren't comparable to Aldo's. And yes, Aldo is better on the ground. That shouldn't be a question.

    I usually like Dan Hardy's analysis, and i like this one in general. But i can't agree with what he said about both fighters having the same takedown defense. Jose Aldo got better takedown defense, even on the statistics Jose got 91% (!!) defended and Conor got 67% which is pretty good in comparison to the rest of the roster, but still far behind Jose's. And those are facts you can check on the official UFC website or on fightmetric.

    Aldo has never faced an opponent with the striking ability of McGregor along with the size/reach as well. Aldo's leg kick is powerful, but it leaves him open for a Conor's dangerous body/head strike. I think Aldo will have a better chance of winning if he takes the fight to the ground and control. McGregor has all the advantages and dominance standin. Love this Unibet fight analysis with Dan and Gooden.. Dan's eagle eye with clear description of situations is outstanding.

    dan hardy, ready to step in with rogan and goldie i think- as the in depth analyst. goldie runs play by play, rogan does colour, and he can do in depth- similar to how hbo does it with Lampley , Kellerman and Roy Jones.
