+AsianPan00dles you learn more in defeat than you ever do from victory. I think that'll apply here too, McGregor looks at his skills honestly and knows how to improve. Last time he lost he followed it up with a massive win streak. Not worried about his future. A loss is more dangerous to those who have never lost before (possibly Ronda Rousey, we'll see). He's been humbled, he has no excuses. I think he sees that he'll never be the welterweight champion.

His ground game isn't relevant, he doesn't take his opponents to the ground naturally. Although, on that, he hasn't been even able to showcase his ground game because the two times he's went to the ground was one against a high level wrestler who took him down a few times and a black belt bjj guy when he had 0 energy so wasn't able to defend or do anything on the ground.

  • @MrKarlSync

+Shaun Kennedy (SDK) COnnor had zero energy? Stop making excuses for the outcome of the fight. Nate was only afew more blows away from taking connors jaw off so connor shot for the take down, now look to a very recent media interview were connor says those he fights panic wrestle when they taste his power. well when someone whos a real man fights him he crumbles. Im glad hes going back to the midget division.

There are a lot of things to respect about Conor in this fight. The fact he took it on short notice (unlike Jones refusing to fight Chael), the fact he did it at 170, the fact he is humble in defeat, he didn't make excuses (like Aldo) & the fact he didn't hide away after (like Ronda)

+Martin Sal True but you gotta understand this conor wasnt aiming for 170 in the fight with dos anjos meaning he was probably about 160-162 pounds normaly week before the contest he would do a lot of cardio to get the right weight however now he didnt do cardio and instead of that he bulked up i think everyone knows how good diaz brothers are in cardio they can go all day long conor knew that aswell thats why he tried to finish him early but couldnt instead of that he missed because of distance he threw powershots instead of accurate shots and then he got rocked because he tought nate is hurt this fight could have gone either way conor just got too confident without cardio 2:30 before end of 2nd round he tried to finish nate and that was his only chance honestly even if he would have survived the 2nd round nate would get either decision or tko because conor would be completly gased out.

George hid after losing to Matt Sera. He was utterly depressed, and didn't want to face anyone. He said that when you lose as a famous champion, you never hear the end of it. He also said that he couldn't imagine how he would have handled getting TKOd, if he was as famous as Rousey. Especially with all the stuff that they put on the internet. The memes, Twitter, videos and the usual Hater's Parade. He said that he didn't know how he would react to that. When Leonard lost to Duran, he went through a period of depression and isolation. He wasn't congratulating Duran on his win. Ali never would have admitted any fighter was better than him, even when he just got clobbered. Anyway, George came back, in part because Sera was accusing him of making excuses. He was. Still, he came back and dominated Sera, and shut up the doubters. The cool thing about what happened with Tate, is now the UFC has three stars in the women's bantamweight division, instead of just one. Long time fans of Tate and Holly should be thankful that Ronda knocked down the door, and brought them with her. They're gonna be set for life. Ironically, Ronda was the one talking up Holly, and pushing for her to get in there and give her some competition. When the time came, she wasn't ready for Holly.

+The X-Bros. If your talking accolades wise, he was a 2-Weight world champion coming into the UFC. He was also on a 15 fight win streak. He finished a top contender for Lightweight belt (Porier), became the interim Featherweight champion by KOing a 17-2 Chad Mendes, then went on to KO the No.1 Featherweight fighter in the world who had not been defeated in 10 years, in 13 SECONDS. Last but not least, he's entertained everyone watching this video and commenting and talking shit about him. Love him or hate him, he gets people talking. He is the biggest asset to the UFC,win lose or draw, because he puts on one hell of a show. GSP, Anderson Silva, Chael Sonnen etc... No of them can/could build a fight like McGregor. He is humble in this defeat and will come out at 200 and get people watch again. Cuz' that's what he does. He's the best entertainer on the planet :)

Basically what everyone said, higher weight classes are a different ballgame. Connor said it, normally when he hits guys with certain shots he hit Diaz with they fall and his weight help mitigate that. Gives him a different perspective and understanding for that adjustment.

Still nothing but respect for the guy. Took a huge risk fighting in a weight class he's never competed in before. Sailed through the first round and Butchered Nate's face, but ultimately got caught with a left that he wasn't able to recover from and things went downhill from there. Showed up at the post fight presser and gave interviews despite the fact that many couldn't wait to rub his face in it. I believe he'll put in the work and come back stronger. And lets not forget, he's still the featherweight champ. Those hoping for a Ronda style breakdown are going to be sorely disappointed.

This is the answer of a true champion. No trash talk about Diaz but an honest answer about his OWN performance, giving credit to who it deserves. Before a fight he's an amazing trash talker but after a fight always showing respect. A true champion is not defined by the way he wins but how he deals with defeat. McGregor shows he's got the heart of a champion. And Nate proved to be one hell of a fighter! Well done mr. Diaz!
