Sure Conor is the 145 champ but the truth is both Conor & Nate are natural 155ers in MMA sense (not in normal everyday life of course). Nate is a little too small for 170 even though he's fought there before and Conor's huge for a 145er and cuts insane amount of weight to get there and has also fought at 155 before. Basically Nate & Conor are two 155ers fighting at 170

So many different variables to this fight. People say Nate wasn't in camp, but he was training for a triathlon (hence what he said post fight interview) so his fitness was on point. Connor took the fight knowing it was a no lose situation, money in the bank and it was at 170 which he probably won't go to again. For his first ever fight at that weight he did really well. Credit to Nate too. Both fighters were good out there so let's just appreciate the show they put on.
