I 100% believe Tony was trying (and succeeded) to land in a position to block chandlers torso with his shins. If hed let his legs down, chandler may have landed on top of Tony in a full mount, passed the guard already. For sure getting slammed on the back hurt a bit, but Tony I also believe is experienced and takes advantage of octogon knowledge for sure trains landing on his back, and the softish canvas/suspended floor helps a teeny bit w landings, in some cases much softer than some "dojo" floors...2 inch foam on paved concrete garage floor lol.

What’s a roller coaster of emotions that fight was. Tony looked so damn good, like the tony of years ago. He was winning the exchanges on the feet and avoiding a majority of the strikes from the bottom while throwing vintage tony elbows and submission attempts. Won the first round only to be knocked out brutally for the first time. I literally went from “wow tony is back, to wow tony should retire” within minutes. Props to chandler for weathering the storm and a great ko

Conor should definitely do this. It's a favorable style match up, chandler only had great fights so it'll sell and he's not jumping anyone for a title shot and if he wins it builds momentum for a title shot which would make that fight bigger.
