It was fun but the game has changed so much, none of the old guys would stand a chance against the new guys. The athletes know what works now. It's funny watching this... neither guy wants to throw punches or kicks. :P

@@bingobriano6021 Thats not true. They have found whats works *within the new rules* . This is what people chronically fail to understand; the UFC has developed rules to promote fast action and thats why whatever the study in the gym, when they get in the cage, all the UF fighters look the same. Its not because its what works, its because its what works best, with the rules. Keep in mind that most of these old fighters would be onstantly stood up or penalized for timidity, under current rules.

I feel bad for the people who missed these early days of modern mma. I was a lifelong fan of martial arts up to the point where the UFC began, and I had trained in aikido, taekwondo, and kenpo. To finally see a competition between practitioners of different styles with virtually no rules was like a dream come true. After seeing what actually worked and what didn’t, I was eventually able to get myself into a Brazilian jiujitsu school and train in Muaythai. If it wasn’t for these pioneers and those who came after them, I would probably have continued wasting my time training in useless martial arts.

@@J.G.Wentworth69420 He was only 6ft 205 here actually, which is nothing. He was likely on something, but we only know that because he admits being on steroids at time when fighting. WWE was when he was big. Like over 260 ripped with low body fat. His weight and muscle here isn't impressive at all for any natural lifter with great genetics. I have very very great genetics for muscle size and being ripped. I'm much bigger than shamrock in terms of muscle size then Shamrock here and leaner too. 6 ft 205 is pretty small even for a natty who lifts very very heavy and seriously. Now when he was over 250 in wwe and lean, that is when he was juicing hard and lifting really heavy. I don't know if you just know nothing about weight lifting and steroids, or if you just are one of those small guys with really bad genetics who could never build muscle yourself, so you assume even guys with small physiques with a tiny bit of muscle are on steroids because they look a lot better than you, when it's laughable to an athlete like me, because the muscle size just isn't there.

I’m from Japan and apologize if my English doesn’t make sense. I really like the way lot of fighters carry your background sport or organization on their shoulders. If you lose , or show weakness, it will tarnish the reputation of your background organization.(shamrock is pancrase).Gracies had BJJ on their shoulders. Fighter representing kyokushin karate was there too. So losing is not a option. They are dead serious. That’s what made UFC or MMA so exciting. I really miss those atmosphere.

Ken is like the only MMA person look up to. Dude is an absolute legend and a lion. 22 submission victories. Most impressive career ever. Such a legendary fighter. He represents fierceness, fitness, toughness and durability. An epic icon for the sport and a role model in real life. Not often you get those kind of individuals. Master. So inspirational and motivational. Love him. Natural charisma and influence. Feels like a movie star. Dominated every match with his expertise on the ground. By far one of if not the most talented, gifted and skilled mixed martial artist. His story is remarkable. Godfather of MMA. Class and courage. Royce easily lost the second fight the judges had it completely wrong like many other times. Ken had him in the ground and is working for the majority of the fight! That's a win! Ken's attitude and personality is always top notch. Very likable, respectable and honorable. The grandfather we wished we had.

To me the craziest things to think of when watching a fight this old are just how far modern fighters have come. U look at how easily dab have his neck up in this fight and it’s crazy no current fighter whether they’re unranked or a champion would give up a guillotine that easily
