Easily one of the greatest speeches I've listened to. Funny, humble, passionate. And not a bit of boo-hooing. If the other award shows had speeches like this, I guarantee people would actually watch them.

Don was the type of man who drove himself home after a fight, stop by a gas station and buy a case of beer and a bag of ice and go home and cook a steak and sit on the couch.

Kurt Russell is basically the movie version of Don Frye.

That man was a vicious animal during the fight, but afterwards was the sweetest guy ever. No ego like these new guys. Always respected his opponent no matter how bad and fast he whooped them.

It's depressing bc he was on Joe Rogan today and he can barely speak now.

I met him at an Arizona State University wrestling match. Fists like bricks. One of the toughest. A founding father of modern UFC and MMA.

Both Don and Dan, two greats. They make a great combination. Their podcast is fantastic and hopefully they'll keep running it themselves and never sell it out.

3 fights no weight classes or rules. Total badass.If he was in his prime today I dont think anyone would want to fight him.

They should but they have always been Super Cheap, I mean just have the ones that are in a lower bracket apply for say 250 a month would surely help some of them a great deal. It's going to happen one day because of lawsuits and shit, I'm not saying anyone should win a lawsuit because they got what they signed up for(and Frye certainly would admit this to be true) but you see Judges give a group of people who didn't even pass the Entrance exam to be a Fireman in New York be given millions of Tax Payer Dollars and forced the City to hire them as fire men(There are thousands of cases similar to this) so one day some judge will definitely rule in their favor against the UFC so if they want to stop that from happening(or have a good excuse to give the judge) No.1 would be showing they care for the fighters health and having a pension. But do they, Naw I don't think they really do(not enough to say they do) so don't expect this anytime soon.

It definitely is up there. Couldn't he have made a lot more money as a boxer? I think he'd be a sort of Rocky Marciano type. He and Mike Tyson would have been something to watch! While Frye used other marshal disciplines, it appeared to me that boxing was his primary tactic.

@@NewarkBay357 He only started boxing after he graduated from college. Don's a phenomenal athlete and a natural but that's just too late of a start to ever have success. I think his amateur record starting off was 2 - 6, so once you have 6 losses in 8 fights the promoters will only ever look at you as a stepping stone. I'd have liked to see how far Don could've gone in pure boxing if he started out younger.

That Guy well Tank went to the final round in one of the UFCS.. He could hang earlier on. But now all styles are the same in UFC. So a Street fighter like Tank cant hang in this water down UFC now.

But new UFC is boring they all fight the same as I said..The old UFC was many styles so witch means a boxer could get knocked out by a Street fighter not train at all in that field..The fun is out of UFC to me.

Frye looked terrifying everytime like you know he is going to hurt you and he usually did. But when the fight was over and a commentator talks with him, he actually normal like a man barely out of college full of enthusiasm and pride for the victory he just had. One of the greatest, like George Foreman great.

Don is such a fucking boss. Now put Bas in the hall of fame DAMMIT!

Normally I can’t stand acceptance speeches...but I gotta say, I could have listened to don tell stories for another hour and not even blink an eye.. His articulation and delivery are ON POINT, especially considering how much he’s rattled his brain during his career.....nothing short of amazing. I know it’s a day late and a dollar short, but: congratulations Mr Don Frye! And thank you for showing us how a real man looks and acts.

I know it's been a year since u posted this...so im def several days late and many dollars short lol but yeah you're spot on about acceptance speeches in general...I was damn sad when Don stopped talking tho...could have listened to him for hours. I bet he has so many awesome interesting stories to tell. Wish we could hear them all
