Despite the semi-long chain of accusations about holding submissions I can't help but feel sympathy for this guy. He's an incredibly skilled fighter coming from a rough background. I think the reasoning behind his 'holding' stems from insecurities, he takes it too personally when people put up any struggle. Perhaps he has something to prove, wants to make somebody proud. Whether or not that's an excuse isn't really up for debate, this type of stuff causes unnecessary injury an brings negative media towards MMA in general. I hope Palhares realizes his mistake and corrects it in the future... hopefully he'll get a second chance (knowing Dana, yeah, probably not gonna happen). Either way I wish him the best. The dudes got a sick ground game.

When he is fighting, he is in the Zone, thats why he sometimes he gets carried away and rips limbs :)

It's this type of fighter who you want to win because he's worked so hard for it and isn't doing it for himself, he's doing it for the happiness of his family. You have to respect that.

Maybe that's where all his strenght comes from, the man's been doing heavy labor since he was just a kid. Amazing story.

Wow... Rousimar Palhares has really went through hardships in his life. I respect him alot for that and the success he has accomplished today. Really an inspiration to everyone out there, rich or poor. Things we take for granted everyday, like waking up every morning in a warm and comfortable apartment with clean floors and a fridge stuffed with eggs and food ready for breakfast. This guy shared two pieces of bread with 9 other family members! Respect! Look at him now, in the UFC. Inspirational.
