It shouldn't. He needs to go to a sport psychologist. Even if he beat Jon your not a champ until you defend the strap. So if he beats Jon what's does it matter if he loses the next 3? Now if he won the next 3 after Jon he'd be in a different place.

Idk they were all light hearted though, but Reyes had an air of superiority around the table, that "yea I really still think I beat him and yall didn't" air. Dom still bitter about that loss. He hasn’t been able to let it go, and it’s all in his body language and demeanor. He’s a talented fighter, but I’d venture to say a lot of his struggles in his fights Post-Jones, are rooted in that. I bet if he can get over that, we see a resurgence from him. He’s an example of how important the mental side of the fight game is.

The fact that he didn't just suck it up, life is full of unfair moments everyone has to deal with, and go on to prove he is the better man (losing 4 in a row after that, hasn't done much for him), says a lot about him.
When Cormier says “we all got our butts kicked by Jon Jones…” Reyes is like “who the f**k is we?”

Yeah Jon jones made him suffer on purpose if you see the fight again he never looks for the finish job just wanted to punish him for what he was saying. Smith was talking heavy, as soon as Jon saw Anthony was no threat he just pushed forward he usually picks people apart, Jon bodied him.

Jones won that fight 4 rounds to 1. People are so delusional. Not only did 2 judges give Jones round 2, but they also gave Jones round 3. All 3 judges gave Jones rounds 4 and 5. Everyone just hated Jones so much by that fight, they would believe anything and all stroke each other off about it. Dom lost that fight bad.

What the hell happened to Reyes? He went from arguably defeating Jon Jones legitimately to losing four in a row and embarrassing fashion. It’s truly sad to see what his career became
I feel for Reyes. I think in his mind, he reached the pinnacle of the sport, defeated the goat, but then got robbed of it and I truly believe that that psychologically fucked Dom. Feeling robbed of such a huge accomplishment, may have made him subconsciously care less about fighting the other guys he’s recently lost to.

Anthony Smith has won me over as a fan. He comes off so genuine and honest. I understand what Dom was saying but you cannot tell someone else what motivates them. Jon may felt he was not motivated to fight him no one is in his mind. I remember when Nunes loss to Peña she was recovering from covid and had major life changes. She may not have been motivated or just loss no one will know but her. However when she returned she found something that helped her reclaim her belt. It’s harder to stay at top than getting to top

Considering how his career turned out, I don’t blame him for tearing up. He could’ve been champ defending the belt getting insane money and ppv points, but because of a bad decision he is now on a bad losing streak of all knockouts on the verge of being cut. It’s a depressing outcome to think about.

@@jimmyzoom1143 Numbers do not lie. Jones won at bare min 3 rounds out of 5 on points. Did he damage Reyes? No, but Reyes didn't damage him either. All those flurries he threw missed for the most part. Yes Reyes won 1-2 rounds (1 for absolute sure), but People hate on Jones because of his personal life and you all have the right to do so. But as a fighter and athlete, he's one of the best to ever do it and most certainly won that fight on points. The right decision was made.

This was my first time watching Anthony Smith talk at length. You can tell he's a honest, stand up guy. The way he talks about jon Jones and frames his fight leads me to believe he's probably a pretty earnest guy

Plus Jones wasn't even motivated to really fight in his last fights as light heavyweight lol 😂. Like if it was a Jones from the earlier years when he actually was fighting and aiming to knockout people he would have submitted or knocked out reyes within the first 2 rounds.

Jon didn’t choose to fight Rashad. Jon got the title fight with Shogun because Rashad was hurt. Their timelines eventually crossed because they both wanted to be champions. It was inevitable.

I hate how people try to change history lol. Yes Rashad was the #1 contender after Jones won it from Shogun. But he still chose to say he would fight Rashad before discussing it with him. It likely would have been the opponent anyway, but he definitely did choose to fight him by saying it first.
watching this again...anthony smith is very humble...very good representative for the sport of UFC

I feel for Dom man. Him and Cody Garbrandt have very similar careers. Cody specifically trained early in his career to defeat Cruz’s style and Dom did the same for Jones.They were never able to adjust and I think that’s why they really fell off after their championship fights.

Brother everyone in that panel said he had the closest fight and daniel said many people thought he won and did enough. The entire crew around agreed he won the fight, i have yet to see a breakdown where someone's says dom didn't win by the criteria, its literally just jones fans and joe rogan who believes he won and non of them can argue why because all of them know he won the first three and try to come up with invalid reasons as to how he won
