I'm from SE Iowa and seen him one time at Walmart with his son. As a long time UFC fan, I recognized him right away. He was walking with a limp due to his bad knees. I didn't walk up to him and act like a little fan obsessed girl, I simply walked by, smiled and nodded at him as if to say hey, I know who you are, he caught it, smiled and nodded back. I didn't want to interrupt his time with his son and make a scene for other people to join. The smile and nod was good enough. Good luck on your endeavors Mr Sylvia and thank you for all those slobber knockers that you put on for us fans!

Hey I'm from Albuquerque, NM and ran into Jon Jones too one night. I was out side smoking my last bowl and he said hey kid let me hit that. Before I knew it I was staring at the GOAT who kept walking and pocketed my favorite one hitter. Never thought I'd see Jon Jones outside my own dealer's house. Looked like several celebs were in the Bentley too, but I couldn't get a good look since Ronda Rousey was passenger side and wouldn't move her head as they sped off. You just never know who you're going see and where right? Reminds me of that time I met Joe Biden long before he was president in the back of a local laptop store too.

The reason I said that I'm from SE Iowa is bc that is where he lives now and we have very very few celebrity encounters here. Carlton from Fresh Prince frequents here since his inlaws live down the road about 6 miles. I just wanted to point out that I met him by chance and he seemed like a good dude but no matter who he is, he doesn't deserve to be hounded by some nobody(me) just because he's famous, or was at one time. Now he's just an average Joe working a 9-5 and making ends meet!

@@mysticmac5431 Yeah, like down here in San Juan. Tito Trinidad was a boxing champ and made around $80 million in 15 years. So one day he asks his broker," how much is there?" and the broker says," Some investments went belly up,like a fish". Tito says: Where's my money? You've been handling it for 15 years. Smartass broker says: you don't know shit about money. Which was true. There's more. Don King sets Tito up for a fall by pitting him against Bernard Hopkins. Tito falls by a surprise left hook.Don King makes millions by betting AGAINST Tito. Tito then discovers he was also set up by his broker and by another guy, Banker Richard Carrion of Banco Popular PR.Broker was paid to steer Tito's millions to Carrion's bank. Broker now works full time FOR the bank after living very well off Tito's money. Now Tito's in court suing the Bank,Carrion and the broker. A trusting Tito was fooled and his money was used by others to get rich.

mystic mac well, in Tim’s case he took his money, bought a home and land and invested his cash so props to him. A lot of fighters like him end up with nothing. He was smart enough to plan ahead. And in a time when fighters made a fraction of what they do today. Also he has his own TV show and has been on hunting shows for years. So that doesn’t hurt his wallet. I know him well before he moved from Bangor. Haven’t seen him in a long time. Glad he’s doing well.

Nothing against Tim but they brought Randy up to fight for the title after being KO'd by Chuck that's the problem and history of the HW division in the 2000's. All the talent was in Japan, they had 3 or 4 top guys but we saw how those top guys went when Arlovski and Tim himself fought Fedor, what was it about 3 or 4 minutes to finish both off. Christ Tim got his first title shot on a one-fight win streak LOL. Anyway, I know Tim's had some down periods in his life, so good to see him doing well for himself. On a side note, I didn't realise he thought Arlovski again in 2012 for the ONE Fighting Championship, ended in an NC, after Arlovski kicked him in the head and Tim couldn't continue.

Me and my dad used to hate Tim Sylvia. That is, until my dad met him at a local MMA event while he was still the UFC champion. My dad told me he was one of the nicest most humble guys he ever met and loved him from that day on. I know this video is 2 years old now, but I'm sure he's still doing the same stuff right now and I'm glad he's living a good life. Pride might have had the best Heavyweights when Sylvia was champ, but he is a part of UFC history and had some great fights in the early days, even fighting with a broken arm like a badass. I wish him the best.

Maybe Tim going in HOF, would make sense. His 4 losses in UFC were all against other legends Mir, Couture, Arlovski, and Big Nog. Arlovski he got revenge in next fights and Big Nog was getting his butt whooped until he caught Tim in sub. Honorable mention to his domination in title fight with Jeff Monson. Monson was on 16 fight win streak with 10 of the wins via submission. Sylvia neutralized his ground game when it went to the matts and Monson was helpless.
