Li had the opportunity to make a bigger name and cheque for himself fighting Ferguson stolen from him. He doesn’t even get to show off his fire suit at the press conference, forced to fight a guy way bigger than him, actually went the distance and outfought the bigger dude, and they didn’t even let Li have the win. He fought much more dynamically as well. D rod only had a jab really. So much harder to take the bigger dude down. And also you have to be so much more cautious in your defence. My heart goes out to Li. Man did not complain one bit. Admirable. All that disrespect to him but at least all the fans respect Li. (I’m biased because I’m half Chinese keep in mind)

He would have had a big push beating Tony but not only did he have to fight someone that weighed in ten pounds heavier than him but also got robbed by the judges smh. I know bro leach is such an admirable guy. He’s so badass and a genuine dude if u understand Chinese as well. He was robbed and beat the bigger guy. In these judges eyes all you need is a jab. That's all he had to offer. He was clearly 10-12 pounds heavier and couldn't establish a ground game imagine that. Leech was robbed for sure. Rodriguez is on the other side happy that it went to the judges goes to show favoritism. You can't leave it to the judges at all. Hard to put a guy down when he is almost 2 classes above you. Khmazat missing weight affected so much and good around being almost 20 pounds damn near. like his shit don't stink. Khamzat is a beast for sure but Holland stepped up. Most guys woulda said NO.

We've all seen Dana play favorites plenty before, but I've never seen him so chill about a fighter missing weight and putting and entire card in jeopardy. I'm one of those "lunatics" that think something fishy was going on. He fuckin hates catchweight bouts. Has thrown away possibilities worth millions simply because the fights would have to take place as a catchweight bout. But this card had 3! And it just so happened to fall in place so that fights could be rearranged? Just seems odd to me. Chimaev clearly knew there would be zero consequences. Last question, the fighter that benefited the most, although he lost would be the Leech. His stock rose a great amount with hardcore fans and maybe even some casual fans. Props to the embedded series it’s one of my favorites on KZread

Dana’s reactions no surprise. You already know how he’s going to respond based on the fighter. Don’t know why we do this other than to give people quotes for their articles.

Chris Barnett missed weight by .005%. I get it, he could've started the cut in camp, or watched his caloric intake going into the fight. But he's a regular guy first and foremost, who fights in the UFC for a living. Glad to hear Dana acknowledge his efforts.

Yeah when I did not hear his name for the bonuses I was shocked...that fight was arguably the best one of the entire night. Two big dudes swinging for the fences the whole time, dude fighting with one eye gets a finish. Glad that Dana hinted at him getting some kind of reward

@@fault. I don’t know why Holland expected to touch gloves with all the animosity that was between them. Rookie mistake in my opinion. Of course he’s not a rookie, but he absolutely have not done that. The result would have been the same, but it immediately put him at the worst possible disadvantage.

I wish someone had been more straightforward when asking Dana about Khamzat. Something like, “Dana, we’ve seen fighters cut from the card, champions stripped of belts over much less. Why was Khamzat’s situation treated differently? Was he fined, at least? Why was he allowed to keep his fight, keep his payday?”

khazmat was told to stop cutting weight by a UFC doctor. he said he could cut weight and was fine; no problem. UFC doctor forced him to miss weight. dont you undertand. ufc messed up and had to rebook the fights and make it look like a big fight occured to swap out the cards. fights were also very short notice.

Is that respect, shock or anger on Dana's face when they ask him about Nate's win? Lol. I haven't seen that Nate Diaz since the Cerrone fight.

@@ProBangers actually what they agree matters. If they agree the fight is 180 then the commission doesnt care if a fighter is under the weight class. But if the fight is at 170 they care when a fighter is OVER the weight. If nate had agreed 180 then they wouldnt care. But he didnt. So it matters. The discrepancy only matters if 1 fighter is above the agreed fight weight.

@@SJHD I understand that, BUT, Dana's words were "Nevermind Nate, the athletic commission wouldn't have agreed to it". What he's saying is that IF Nate would have agreed to fight (even if it had to be a new last-minute contract), the athletic commission still wouldn't have allowed it.

i really like the fact that dana said he is still going to take care of Barrnet regardless of him missing weight.. man has been through the ringer and deserves it.

Hopefully they make khamzit fight at 185 and it'll teach him a lesson.

Yep everyone is on contract and in that contract says the fight may be changed at any moment to suit the promotional companies needs of need be. Fighters are completely aware of this and that’s why chamiev is getting flak and damn well should cause these fighters deserve there best chances to m preparation for fighting styles to just get someone completely different as an opponent

its about fight odds, age ect as well. Li and J Rod was still a close match up and it showed with 1 pount more. Nate was a huge underdog, much older and has a big carreer behind him.
