Because he didn't threw it randomly, Beneil was throwing jab and then going for takedowns. Barboza saw this recurring pattern, that's why knee timing was great. Barboza has good fight IQ.

All spectacular highlight reel-worthy Flying Knee finishes but in my opinion the greatest ones were unquestionably Yoel Romero's flying knee to Chris Weidman in front of Weidman's hometown fans at The UFC's inaugural MSG show (4:22 to 4:34) and Jorge Masvidal's lightning-fast flying knee at arch-nemesis Ben Askren (5:56 to 6:12) which had everyone at Octagon-side from Joe Rogan to fighters Paul Felder, Kamaru Usman, Henry Cejudo & even Khabib Numagomedov all with their jaws plumetting to the floor in complete disbelief.
