@@joshuaperez1531 Nick went for the head, Condit mostly legs. Nick pushed every rounds Condit did not. Ultimate Fighting Championship, not Ultimate Point earning. I think Condit is one of the greatest strikers of all time, but Diaz won this shit.

Its not about the agressor its about who is much effective and its carlos all the round , he use his footwork and reach unpredictable combinations and different kick angle to control his opponent and win round by round .

I have the same injury as GSP, and when i started training again, me surgen told me that my one knee will only work at 40-60 %. Even with a 40 % knee and a long layoff, GSP is going to beat condit imo

i feel so happy for Condit he deserved that win. Hes a good guy, great fighter, and hes got a new born baby. Good luck Condit on your next fight whoever it may be

I was bored, so i choose to re-watch this fight, it was a close one. I love how Condit was using hit-and-move technique so well and u can see how frustratin Diaz was. All Diaz was doin is tryin to corner Condit, but failed miserably. I'm not gonna lie, if Diaz was more technical and more well-rounded, he could of easily and decisively won the fight. At the end of the fight, u see he went to embraced Condit, basically sayin ''i thought u was dumb like other fighters for fightin me my style.

It makes perfect sense. I don't know if you have noticed the trend of Greg Jackson fighters. But its usually run and get points if you know you can't out match/skill your opponent. Best example of the influence he has is clay guidas last fight. Or condits last fight.

Wow two idiots over here. 1. Yes moving forward(Octagon control) WAS a major factor in scoring rounds back then. So yeah he did score points you sarcastic idiot. I love internet judges. They never actually know the scoring criteria. 2. They are still elite BJJ practitioners. Not winning by sub every fight =\= Shit ground game. It's almost like the UFC has the top caliber athletes or something. By your logic almost every Olympic wrestler in UFC is shit at wrestling. His fights with Hughes, Penn, Trigg, Sherk, Miller, Hieron, Serra, Fitch, Koshcheck, Condit, Hendricks were all great. Really just the Diaz fight sucked but all of Nick's fights suck, seriously who else could fight Condit, GSP, and Silva back to back to back and have all 3 suck. GSP never had 3 fights in a row that were boring ever.

I hope to see GSP vs Diaz sooner than later

I would say Im more of a Diaz fan but I like both guys. They both tried to play if safe and not get too crazy. These kind of mixed results accompany that approach to a fight between two really good fighters. Diaz likes to feed off what the other guy is throwing at him and use it against him and it works really well because he's such a machine. Condit had the perfect game plan on how to counter this and did a good job implementing it for the most part. Close fight, next one shoud be a 1 rounder!

@NHusic83 - That's strategy, yes it is a more entertaining fight when they have the mindset of finishing the fight by KO or Submission. Buy sometimes it is best for the fight to hang back and use well placed strikes.

Condit had a solid plan to counter Diaz's superior striking and ground game. Diaz expected him to fall in line like all his opponents do but Condit won because he was the smarter fighter.

On reflection one has to take ones hat off to both fighters,supreme fitness,dedication and skill-true mixed martial artists-sad for Nick that he lost but there will be better results for him assuming he comes back.The courage to step into the octagon at that that level is something very very few people on earth can understand.Still we have Reem/JDS,Cain/MIr(?),Evans/Jones,Sonnen/Silva,Condit/GSP,etc to likely look forward to plus Nick returning hopefully after his hiatus.Luckiest fans on earth!

@saevusmalus I couldn't agree more. He fought smart. And Nick Diaz's inability to change up his plan against Carlos' goes to show that all he is is a brawler and not much of a tactician.

Followed both fighters for sometime now, I wasn't pulling for any in particular but being an advid fight fan I was hella disappointed, carlos had all the tools in the book to bang with diaz and put him away, but instead he played it overly safe in my book. I can see gsp taking condit down with ease. I think he will get the belt back.

@saffant That's a state exemption for personal use. Even if it was in California, it can't be in his system regardless if he notified the CSAC. Being fined and suspended for a year is a big deal to me because even if he comes out of retirement, he can't fight for a year. That sucks a lot. As for the fight, his style cost him the fight. He probably could have (should have) won despite not expecting Condit's plan but he ignored everyone giving him the adjustments needed.

Rashad said he was going to stand and trade with Rampage, Guillard said his fight with Jeremy was going to be fight of the night, GSP said he was taking Kos out with a KO. They promote fights, doesn't mean they have to follow through.

Condit deserved it totally... Although it was a close enough fight, he was clever enough to outmatch Diaz. Very clever fight, and a very well deserving opponent against GSP. Also, it should be a very much more technical fight, and probably much more entertaining. Good job, Condit, and i'm eager to watch the title fight!
