My observations from the fight : 1) A beautiful use of post-match-winning speech. Send a message of peace and unity to the world against violence. 2) A display of great mental state, when he expressed gratitude to UFC management for getting him where he and his family are today. 3) A brilliant display of dominance in R1 from Khamzat. A master display of defense from Usman. Not many could have avoided a choke from that position. 4) A mature way of approaching R2 from Khamzat, with an injured hand. 5) A complete nail-biting thrilling fight display in R3 from both the lions. Combination of striking, grappling, defense and respecting the opponents. 6) Khamzat's display of admiration for Usman through his post-match-winning gestures (tap on the shoulder post-match winner announcement), his words for him during the speech, and when he says 'He Made Me A Better Fighter Today'. Khamzat hand getting injured evened out the odds for Usman for a short-notice fight. Made this a competitive contest.

Khamzat was literally born and raised in war, He was born in May 1994 in Chechnya. The First Chechen war was 11 December 1994 - 31 August 1996. And the Second Chechen War was August 1999 to April 2009. So for the first 13/14 years of his life, all he knew was war. With a speech like this, you know it’s coming from his entire being. This post fight interview has shown a lot about him, much respect to him and his hard life to be where he is now.

This is the exact post fight speech Khamzat needed. It showed humility and compassion. We love the trash talk but he needed to connect with the fans in a non smash kind of way and he did. He gained alot of respect from the people who weren't fans of Khamzat.

I felt his savage post fight following missing weight was out of hand and wrong. Since then this man has become humble. I am glad to see it. Proud of him for that and especially for his words following this fight. He win more than just a fight here. Hats off to Usman for a great fight. Might have been a different result if it were 5 rounds and not just 3...they will meet again...I am certain of that. This post fight octagon speech was priceless and shows what one can do when you have the chance to do it on the biggest stage. He was in the octagon with the body, but his heart and soul was somewhere else suffering. He is often wild in the interviews after his wins, but this time was different, he was different. You could feel the pain in his heart and soul. He definitely became my favorite.

Made me like and respect him more. So good of him to use his influence to talk about something that truly matters right now.

First time he speaks normal after a fight and pulls out a real gem, what a great moment and message.

I said he had a warriors heart a long time ago... only a person who knows what love means can have a warriors heart. Otherwise your heart is empty and prone to giveup. Khamzat is a warrior in the 1st degree and he truly knows what love means as well. I am happy for him.

I saw the fight 5 times now and one of them in slow motion the score cards are absolutely ON SPOT! yes Khamzat needs improvement the guy has only 13 fights till now but he beat Usman the guy ppl was comparing him to GSP and everyone must respect that!
