I still remember 13 years old watching this live with my family hoping and praying Barao doesn’t beat up TJ too bad was a fan of Dillashaw but I knew Renan was starting to look unbeatable before this fight but when that overhand landed I couldn’t sit down the rest of the fight 😂🙌still my favourite performance by a bantamweight

To be fair, Barao was using ivs to rehydrate after a crazy weight cut which became harder to sneak as USADA was making their entrance. Therefore, his cardio was never the same since every weight cut was brutal for him. Also, bw started to massively improve and Barao just couldn't keep up or even maintain the same power. Moving up to fw was a mistake because he would have even less power against bigger guys who hit harder than the guys he was accustomed to fighting.

@@MF-fo4nn It's incredible, an Anderson Silva video was posted by the UFC right before this. All of the comments are positive, "what a legend", "the goat". This is a guy who repeatedly popped for serious steroids, and suffered injuries symptomatic of long-term steroid abuse. But a White man has the audacity to take EPO (not a steroid) to cut a massive amount of weight for a fight HE LOST and literally every comment every time he's mentioned is like this. You'll never see these comments on Silva, Adesanya or Usman videos; maybe Jones, but only because his situation is SO egregious (orders of magnitude worse than Dillashaw's, but he's still the GOAT to many and his achievements aren't negated/minimised).

TJ's performance against Renan Barao is everything fans think Cody vs Cruz was. TJ was far more dominant, not even losing a round, he finished the fight and he was an even bigger underdog. Almost no-one thought he was going to beat Barao, and at the time Dana was hyping up Barao as the #1 P4P fighter in the world.

Anyone with a big brain would realize it didn't do shit for him as Cejudo won that fight. TJ also probably used it to get to the lower weight class. There are a slew of fighters that have lost fights on PED's & anabolic steroids. Just because someone is cheating doesn't mean they are the better fighter or they will win the fight.
