    Him and werdum were just unmatched mir I think could’ve been better if not for the life threatening crash from what we did see though I think werdum is not only better then mir in the heavyweight discussion but I think he’s better then anyone else in ufc history

I know injuries took a toll on him and the Sea Level Cain meme came from him gassing hard against Werdum since he didn’t prepare for elevation, but the dude went downhill right when USADA came into play. He never looked or performed the same. If anyone was the OG CEO of EPO, it was Cain (+ Chael and Tibau who both popped for it).

    @@mohamadshalaby3065 that's true. Werdum is the only that compares. His subs vs Fedor and Cane at their absolute most dominant are the most impressive. Mir's subs were usually just faster and nastier, and without the motorcycle accident I think he would have pulled well ahead. Can't believe they haven't gone head to head yet. maybe in Bellator

    That Frank Mir Nogueira arm break was the first clean break you can actually see and hear. Mir vs Silvia was a blink and you miss it break. Either way Mir, I think was the first guy to break bones in a submission in UFC history.

    It feels really weird(and awesome) when I see some technical details in heavyweight division. DC and Stipe's Wrestling, stipe's boxing+ wrestling combo, Gane's Lightfoot, Mir's groundgame, Fedor's Sambo Judo. It feels very exciting, seeing this in a division where almost everyone relies on setting up and wind-milling KO.

    Whenever Frank Mir locks in a submission, i have to look away. Ive broken too many many bones (my own) to watch. He wants to see them break and then hurt (often while looking right at their face). He is a great fighter.

    Mir one of my favorite fighters of all time. I hadn't seen that sequence with Big Nog in years, what an absolute savage Mir is to nearly get TKOd, then nearly get subbed, reverse it, and then hand Nog the first submission loss of his career, breaking his arm in the process.... Just WOW!

    Mir was always my favorite HW in the UFC. He submitted Nog while he was still in a haze from getting rocked. He basically just went lizard brain / auto pilot and got the key lock before he got his head cleared. Fantastic fighter and always a good sport, win or lose. I was crushed when he had his accident and crushed again when I realized he'd never be great again like he once was.

    At 0:43, I watched Barnett tap to strikes before. Pride Grand Prix when Cro Cop whooped his ass, winning the tournament. It's the same night the Axe Murderer took a head kick that started his career down hill slide. Cro Cop was prime and on fire that night!!!

    A few things: That Rothwell submission was fantastic. And I didn't know AA once rocked the same 'do as Patrick Swayze in "Point Break". Big Nog... you're a tough one. And the octagon was huge back in the day.

    Most of the new age UFC fans dont even remember how good most of the original generation of fighters were they all just worship McGregor or Khabib or something. Its good that these videos are showing people that each generation of fighters were just as good not just the newer ones.
