One of the best fights so far this year. Thought my heart was going to give up on me when Condit landed that kick. Both fighters deserve respect after last night, they left it all in there. The better man came out with the win and it was awesome to watch.

We saw very good MixMartialARTS. Respect to both. No trash talking, respectfull und athletism at its best. Like GSP said, who ist constantly trying to develop his skills with the tools he has and again he showed how good he does that. Condit did a great job, he is a complete fighter with one of the best kicking te´´skills like a good TaeKnwonDo fighter. This guys bring MMA to the next level, no diaz no jones does this. THX guys. RESPECT from EUROPE.

To GSP: Sir you may (debatable) not have knock out power of Jackson, athleticism of Jones, accuracy of Silva, or wrestling of Sonnen, but what you do have is so much better and so much more and we love to see you fight. It's awesome to see you constantly learn and become so much more than your last fight every time.

I watched this live, and I give Carlos credit. Even when he was being dominated on the ground, and he was, and admitted as much, he never stopped throwing as evidenced by the state of GSP's face. Both guys are a real credit to UFC.

Agreed.. Most probably he just didn't have enough training (years and years put in to become a real master like Lyoto) as he began getting into mixing stuff pretty early - and probably figuring out early to train for MMA is one of the reasons for his success. Yet in addition to Muai Thai he's successfuly using some boxing technique though - namely jabs. And... ultimately his striking is enough.. apparently :) But Silva/Lyoto are more fun to watch in stand up :)

People claim that Georges doesn't have any heart, and yet he battled back from an injury that has ended careers, sacrificing time he would use to prepare for Condit simply to get his knee working again. He could have easily quit when he hurt his knee. But instead, he re-ingited his passion for MMA and put on a show against Condit, fighting back from a barrage that would have finished most welterweights. I have nothing but respect for him, he is an amazing individual.

Anderson walks around heavy and on fight night certainly weighs as much as a LHW But anyway, Weight matters more in the smaller divsions Where as, once you start getting into the heavy division, like 185 and up, the weight difference aren't as profound That's why the HW division goes from 205 to 265 While the 15 pounds from 170 to 185 IS A BIG 15 pounds etc

My point of view is that GSP has so much animosity towards Diaz that he will be begging Dana and Lorenzo for a fight with him. Therefore that might set up a match between Hendricks and Diaz. You're right about the loss thing but 1) I can't see Hendricks getting a title shot straight away 2) I think Diaz is the next best guy.

  • @darthroker29

I think weidman should be next in line for MW, IF he can beat Boetsch(spell check?) Bisping is coming off a loss with sonnen. Or have the winners or bisping/vitor and weidman/boetsch be a #1 contender match.

Its crazy how ppl are mad because he keeps winning by decision. I would love to see them get on the octogon for 25 min and Condit is not an easy person to knock out. He pinned him down and beat him. The fight was a great fight he won fair and I'm excited to see him back.

Fans would love to see either but neither should happen. Anderson is obviously closer in size to Jon but none of the 3 are really that close. When Anderson fights at 205 he's smaller than almost everyone, and Jon is a huge LHW.

One head kick and a few elbows does not give Condit the striking edge in this fight and even if you wanna argue that Condit DID have the superior striking, that still leaves grappling, aggression and octagon control in GSP's favor. In short, GSP deserves the W.

Maybe his style is not the most exciting sometimes but as he says he uses the tools he's dealt with.Great fight overall, nothing to complain about. Would love to see the Diaz fight more than Anderson though. That being said if GSP does meet Anderson I'm gonna go with the Spider on that one. Don't see that as a good fight for GSP.

I would say Chael is a slower guy - he doesn't seem to train for strength power - rather for endurance - grinding style. Many guys in UFC don't get the importance of being as explosive as possible. But I still don't get why GSP's punches are not that powerful as one might expect

I had Condit winning the 1st round because of the damage he did from the bottom. I had the 2nd going to GSP. I had the 3rd going to Condit 10-9. I would have had it 10-8 except that GSP did regain dominant position for the final 3 minutes of that round. Then I had GSP winning rounds 4 and 5 as Condit faded a bit. So while 2 judges had it 50-45, I scored it 48-47 for GSP.
