Greatest fighter doesnt mean greatest guy ... He is cocky, he is saying things just for camera , he says bullshits all over , he looks down people at times and so many more things ... How not to hate this guy ...

Quite simple, I don t hate him but I don t have respect for his skills as it is damn obvious that he wins because of his size rather than skills... the first guy of his size u put in front and he almost lost. Just people want him to fight at HW thats all. he ll never get respect as we don' t see him winning fair

that standing elbow crank was pretty nasty. never seen jones do that before. texiera fought back the whole time and made jones back out from the offense every now and then. it wasn't a one sided fight like johnson vs davis. kudos to texiera for fighting back. the mans got heart. i guess people are gonna look out for those elbow cranks from now on.

Honestly, it's really GREAT to see someone so happy about winning a fight and saying it with pride. Jones kept saying, "I'm feeling great, I'm happy, I just won a fight" and it's just good to see that, seeing him just enjoying the fact he won the fight. It's very great to see.

    10 жыл бұрын

twistedfocus100 yeah, but if u follow his interviews he often says that he does not want to, the fight is happening because the people wanted it, they demand it. if jones could have it his way, he would dodge him. this interview proved it, he does not want to talk about it, he does not want that fight to happen, and he probably is trying to still fight it of, basicly you can see that the fight is "supposed" to happen. but given the circumstances im not 100% that it will, his dodgy personality is what gives this credit. im hoping for the fight, i really do, and i hope dana white and ufc stands firm on this. but until the fight is set, the contracts are drawn up and it scheduled, and even then, i would not be surprised if jones comes up with some injury that postpones the fight and so forth. this is just based on how he, his team, ufc, treated that fight. when its such controversy, if we just keep it to the one 46-49 judge, thats just shameful. but lets wait and see. still i dont see him as someone to love or admire anymore, he is a good fighter, i liked him alot, i dont see him as a true champion, a true champion does not make excuses, a true champion says allright, give me a fight and ill take it. he wants to pick and choose his fights.

Awesome card! Let's be honest, people hate Jon Jones, because he's black. I've heard his naysayers say things like he's "arrogant" or "he's a douche bag," but, when pressed, they aren't able to articulate what he specifically did or said. On the other hand, GSP shows complete arrogance and disrespect by walking in the cage and telling Matt Hughes "I'm not impressed with your performance"and nobody calls him "arrogant", as a matter of fact, he's beloved. Chael Sonnen was charged with mortgage fraud and money laundering and snitches on his co defendants, and he's a STEROID Cheat, but nobody calls him douche bag and he's beloved. Also, Chael and Georges combined have 6 UFC finishes. Jones has finished 10 out of 12 fights in his UFC run. So what gives? They did the same thing to Anderson Silva for years and used the Maia fight as an excuse.

As much as i wanted Jones to lose (not a personal thing, i just like the notion that no one is invincible) I really gotta admit he went through Texeira like he was nothing, not what i expected. Ok folks, here it is Jones has basically been in the cage with all the 205 killers and come out on top. Only fights that excite me now are the rematch with Gustafsson and a fight with Cormier. If he can get through those then he should go up to heavyweight or retire....nobody else left at 205 is worthy of his time

Great fights all around.. but the open-handed stance is a serious issue in this sport. Jones makes me nervous every time he fights. Especially with him grabbing at his face like that. He's lucky he didn't really hurt Glover Teixeira. This is something refs need to put on their list of priorities. I can't see why Miragliotta didn't stop him. Those closed-finger gloves couldn't come soon enough, Dana.

***** True. They can't close the distance because of the fear they will eye gouge themselves. Other long guys like Gus don't do it. In fact it's the only reason Jones is the best as fighting smaller men. He holds his fingers right in front of their eyes and they can't really move forward unless they want the chance of becoming blind.

Loved to see Gomi get that hard fought win over Vallie-Flagg (who has a BEAST of a chin!)! Would love to see him in there with someone like Sam Stout, Myles Jury, or Michael Johnson, Gomi is legit motivated now after this win, and he was NOT in as bad shape as Joe Rogan would have made you believe he was during the match. Don't buy the hyperbole that guy speaks. Also, can't wait for JJ to lose that belt to the deserving man, Alexander Gustafsson!

Kyle P Yeah Jones douchey attitude fluctuates from humble guy to cocky ass hole. And i can see how people though he won.. But Dana can't say it was a clear cut decision and that there was no way Gus could've won that fight. I understand why Dana does it, he needs to eliminate controversy. Remember the the 2nd Edgar-Bendo fight? And Edgar clearly won the 2nd fight and Dana was all "Oh it doesn't matter what who i think won the fight" of course he has to say that because he said he thought Edgar won the first (I didn't) so if he says he thinks Edgar won both fights theres controversy.

Icantfeeeeeelit Nah, Jones is always ahead of the other fighters. He didn't do that well last time, but now, watch it - he's smarter and more dangerous. Hey, he's got elbow cranks, now. LOL He's full of surprises.

He can definitely be a little awkward at times. When Johnson tried to be humble and suggest he hadn't done enough yet to be a title contender it got really awkward when Jones compared him to Phil Davis being content with just being in the top 5, even though I know he was just joking around with Johnson it just didn't feel appropriate to associate him with Phil Davis' lack of drive for the title. It kind of came off as a cheap shot.

***** I don't have a problem with Jones' personality. He is a little bit quirky but I pay to see him fight and I could care less about how he acts, but a lot of people do so when someone says that Jones is not funny I don't tend to disagree. He comes off too strong at times which is something I'm sure everyone has dealt with at some point in their lives.

I think it would be a good fight. I just hope Johnson plays it smart and doesn't take the fight to early. he knows that it's a very good possibility but he also knows he needs a lot more work. he's another humble fighter that doesn't have talk trash and just wants to leave all the b.s. at the door. I'm glad he won.

Nate Whiles no. that's the common interpretation of the oedipal complex, however it goes deeper than that. more like an unresolved inferiority complex where you project those perceived inadequacies out at successful individuals (father figure archetype) etc... the heart of the matter is the same thing. we all do it of course; it's just that lashing out at JJ is a bit much to stomach.

I say the same thing about a lot of people that are older than me. furthermore, he's probably around people all day that are older than guss that refer to him as a kid when his name is brought up in conversation. disrespectful and jon jones imo are two words that shouldn't be in the same sentence.

  • @lamasu

chris schlosser thats a good point, thanks for not backing up your argument with an insult like everyone else who watches mma does. i just feel like if someone younger than me were to call me a kid, all dismissive like he did right there, i would have been annoyed. you really shouldn't talk like that about people in your personal life, they very well may take that as disrespect. anyway its not really what he called him its how he called him, and guss really did give him a run for his money in their fight. anyone who says otherwise didn't see that fight or they just don't know. i realize he probably said it to get under Guss' skin, but that the kind of shit that comes back.

19:15 - I'm not sure but I think he is talking about the win streak record Anderson has (16). Jones is on an 11 fight win streak so he only needs 5 more wins, but in reality he should be at 15-0 in the UFC and with his next fight would already surpass Silva. He's also close to consecutive title defenses: Anderson (10) / GSP (9) / Jones (7). Most wins in a title fight: Anderson and GSP (11) / Jones (8).
