    Everyone needs to chill out and be patient with this women's division. It's only existed in the UFC for a short time, which means that the competition will improve. Sure, Ronda's skill set is unusually high for someone of her gender, but now that she's set the bar the rest of the women (many of whom have yet to be discovered), we should see a significant improvement in women's MMA within 5-10 years. That may seem like a long time but it'll be worth the wait.

    ***** There was nothing faulty about my argument. Let me explain. The competition can't improve if the funding and support doesn't exist. You're looking at this backwards. Also I don't know why you're bringing up the exploitation point. It's well known that Dana only started a women's division because of Ronda. He's on record admitting to it several times, so no surprises there..

    What the hell??? They skipped the whole part where Joe Rogan said, "“The truck just asked me to ask you if you would fight on Aug. 2,” and then Dana corrected it and was mad at his production team. That was the best part and they left it out of this video????

    I know this is a 5 year old video, but It popped It popped up on my feed and I have to say, Ronda’s embrace to to Alexis is beautiful. You can see her apologizing and Alexis saying, “ it’s ok “... This is right up there with Ann Wolf’s knockout of Vonda Ward and James Thunder’s Knockout of Crawford Grimsley... And what is heartbreaking is in the 5 years since this fight, Alexis Davis’s career has never recovered. She had not been defeated in like, 7 years before this and deserves have a successful career in coaching. Not only because of her triumphs, but because hindsight is always 20/20, The agony of defeat is worth its weight in gold when becoming a teacher. Bless Alexis Davis for getting in there and then doing her best to rebound afterward

Tell me honestly, when was there a fight she didn’t care about. It doesn’t matter whether there are 2 or 2 million.. a win is a win and a defeat is a defeat..

    Think what you might about the women's division, but that Judo throw was sick. Throwing another trained opponent like that is not easy at all. Rousey is a beast. It's going to take a Jujutsu-ka trained in the Old Way, with the Code of Bushido burning in her heart, to take down the Rouse.

    It's like when Anderson Silva, GSP, and now Jon Jones just dominated their divisions...she's just at another level. Ali, Tyson, Floyd Mayweather...all dominant in their prime, you always keep looking for the one fighter who will compete, but sometimes there isn't anyone around until the fighter is past their prime or just burned out!

I don't think her and Miesha will fight again anytime soon. I think she will fight someone in the top 10 and then after that Cat Zingano and then possibly Cyborg.

  • @triforcejj

    The reason it took so long for the UFC to get a women's division is because there wasn't enough talent. Dana decided to make it because 1 girl who was on Conan. She's good, but she hasn't been tested with a legit opponent. Her vs Cyborg wouldn't be a 10-1 favourite it would more like a 2-1 favourite, but those odds are too close for the UFC as she might lose. They did the same thing with Tito back in the day to build the UFC. Her vs Cyborg would be the biggest fight in MMA history and they're not making it happen its a travesty and kinda pathetic. Maybe we'll see Ronda vs Davis 2 next? Immediate rematch. Lets not forget Ronda's last fight was against someone she already beat who just got KO'd her last fight then got a title shot... Come on

  • @tradelikezach

    @tradelikezach

    10 жыл бұрын

    Cyborg demanded to terminate her contract with the UFC... not the other way around. Cyborg needs to get the drugs out of her system and make 135 and fight in the UFC to be considered for a title shot. Ronda's last fight was against McMann. And your point about bringing women to the UFC is so invalid. Back when Gina Carano fought she was extremely popular and brought many fans over to womens mma and they didn't make a womens division for UFC for her? And now there is another 115 pound wight class for women and I can't name one 115 pound women fighter. Ronda is a one of a kind athlete who has been training her whole life at the HIGHEST LEVEL. Of course it looks like the other girls suck because she is so good. If you watch the other girls fights vs each other they have insane skills and technique but compared to ronda they fall short.

    Perhaps they should create a higher weight class, especially since people are saying Cyborg can't make weight at 135, and looking at her build, I believe them. Instead of 135 lbs, they go to 145 -150 lbs. Then you get Cyborg and maybe Carano comes back. Rousey has fought before at that weight in judo, even at the Olympics. UFC, scrap the plans for the Women's Strawweight and make that a Flyweight. Take the Bantamweight and turn that into a Lightweight division. 150 lb Rousey still draws but the landscape of talent should open up and bring some greater challenges for her.

    I honestly think it is a money issue. Rhonda is the only woman in the division making any money, she is the only woman getting any kind of promotion, she is the only one really getting sponsors and the spot light shined on her. So she can afford to hire the best trainers, hire a full time chef, hire full time medical or at least top level medical, she can afford to hire a top shelf support crew to make the most out of her ability. The rest of the women in the division are making petty cash and they are expected to go out there an be competitive? I'm not knocking Rhonda or the UFC, she deserves everything and more of what she has got, she has earned it. But if people want to see competitive fights more women need to be promoted than just Rhonda. There are number 10 and 11 ranked fighters that get more promotion and attention than the ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th women combined. What do you expect?

    I wonder if Holm or a veteran like Kedzie would throw something at her she's not seen much......just not sure. And Tecia Torres is one little bad-ass woman. She puts on a good show.

    Alexis Davis seemed way to relax before, during and after the fight. She doesn't seem like championship material.
