UFC 239: Inside the Octagon - Jones vs Santos

Спорт

In this episode John and Dan preview the UFC 239 main event between UFC light heavyweight champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones and Thiago 'Marreta' Santos.
Looking to continue his reign Jones returns to action to put his belt on the line once again, this time against an aggressive veteran, who has left a trail of destruction on his path to the title.
Since stepping up from an impressive campaign at middleweight, Merrata Santos has smashed his way in to title contention with an impressive run of 3 straight stoppages.
The power punching Brazilian now has his first shot at UFC gold and a chance to be the first overthrow the light heavyweight king.
Hosted by UFC commentators John Gooden and Dan Hardy, UFC Inside the Octagon is an in-depth tactical analysis show that previews the feature fights at upcoming UFC events.

He's a heavyweight fighting at light heavyweight, basically beating up smaller people, yet receives all these accolades haha. Reminds me when Shaquille O'Neal entered the NBA. A freak of nature with okay skills, but such a massive advantage physically that it was a foregone conclusion that he would be successful. All that mother fucker did was post people up, back them down, turn his body, and then proceed to be fouled, or dunk that ball in someone's face. But no one could stop it, so all of a sudden, he was this "great" center. That was 80 percent of his offensive game. The rest was little post moves, hook shots, etc. Nothing fancy. But that's the same situation we have with Jones. Freakishly long reach, freakishly tall for the division, with the body of a heavyweight, with okay striking skills mixed in with his main strength, wrestling. If he didn't become champion I would have been shocked honestly. Start Jon Jones's career at heavyweight where he belongs, and let's see how many people he beats. I'm not even sure Jones could beat Alistair Overeem, or Junior Dos Santos honestly. Put him against Stipe or Nganou and then we'll see where all the Jones cocksuckers are at. He doesn't even want to fight DC at heavyweight, and DC is pushing 41 years of age and has a severe reach disadvantage. What a warrior that Jones is. Dude is 6'5 inches haha. Beating up smaller people. I'll give him his props on beating A. Gus, but Jones was massive compared to him even.

He's seriously not a great puncher much less "one of the best". Jon's even said himself that he is only cautious of technical strikers. Santos throws wild sloppy punches mostly and isn't a technical fighter at all. Hes about power and being explosive. Which is what Jon shuts down easily.
