For them to ask about an update on Zabit, making Zhang vs Joanna 5 rounds, bringing up this is the 600th event, the comment about how Alexsi first fought in 1994 and even asking for an update on Diaz vs Poirier was so much better than their usual questions

@@theolegoupil1176 The corners need to start throwing in the towel. Herb Dean isn’t a medical professional, he’s there to officiate. Now people are going to expect referees to be neurologists because a corner has too much pride. TKZ would drop his hands and eat a fast hook in EVERY exchange. After about 2 rounds of those counters, I would’ve thrown in the towel during the 3rd. He wasn’t improving, he was surviving.

Herb is super hit or miss. He gets a lot of guff these days by the fans but honestly to me he’s mostly spot on. It seems like just for some fights on an infrequent basis, he misses. We all make mistakes. Herb is a great ref

Depends on the team he's surrounded by, if they're YES MEN then nothing is gonna change they're gonna keep gassing him up & telling him : "you're gonna walk through everybody, kill everybody....etc" and his downfall will be inevitable. The UFC saw that he was pulling numbers so they're milking him while he's got all the clout they don't care if he's ready or not

Hard to say how much a manager can actually do for their fighters. Another situation where the UFC holds the majority of the leverage.

Yeah we saw some legends coming from Belator or UFC fighters moving to Belator but that only happens rarely and only when the fighters getting older. Why are not more managers supporting behaviors like Nganou’s. Being at the top and talking about organization switch. There was a bad history between Pride and UFC in the past with fighter exchanges but that’s years ago and we have now excellent other organization such as ONE or maybe Eagle.

Shout out to Herb Dean for one of his best stoppages. Let's not discredit him when he does a great job.

Volkanovski is a monster in his division, he is so fast. Absolutly crazy. No chance for zombie, not in one single second. When Khamzat learn from this night and improve his cardio, he is for anyone a real problem. He has such strength in his arms, you can see that in every punch. Today he underestimated Burns, to much emotions and he really wants the KO, that was a mistake. He said after the fight he will be smarter next time.

It’s insane. You can’t have these issues on the official channel for the UFC. Audio engineer/camera operator must not be monitoring their audio. No explanation for why the L-R seems to pan from one to the other here and there either, unless for some reason only one channel with distorting.

I agree with what Dana says about the top five in the UFC. Despite the obvious difference in skill levels compared to the lower ranks, most people still do not give rankings the credit it deserves until a fight like this happens. Good call giving Burns a bonus also.

btw...it isnt ILLEGAL to call a draw as a judge. Its almost like the judges HAVE to give the fight to one or the other no matter how the match plays out. Draws exists.

You can't say as a judge "Let's make that a draw" each round is scored individually, and each judge scores it apart from the others and they have to score the rounds right after each round.

i think you can only have a draw when someone get a point deducted or someone have a 10 - 8 round

Saying khamzat was nervous and anxious. But he sat on top of the cage waiting for Gilbert to walk in. He was not nervous. He thought he would walk right through Gilbert.

Khazmat tha borz is legendary to go from ranked 11 to beat number 2 in the world is unreal I liked the guy from beginning but I honestly didn't think he was gonna win against Burns but he showed everyone the heart this man has he is is only human and he will learn from this fight and get even better train harder because he knows he is human you win in training and all the pros say he go's crazy in gym...

It wasn't that bad of a call. I had Yan winning 1,4,5 but round 1 was so close. It was obviously going to go either way or possibly a draw. Yan looked emotional early in the fight and made a few mistakes, I don't think he'll make the same mistake in the 3rd fight.

BS nobody underestimated Burns I think you underastinated Chimaev. There's levels between the elite Burns just fought wonderboy, Usman, Woodley and Demian Maia. Nobody sleeps that much

Glad to see Dana taking care of the fighters who take care of him.

This was the test Chimaev needed, this has humbled him and also prepared him for what is next. I felt coming into this fight he sadly underestimated Burns, this is what kept him from the finish IMPO. Initially he was crisp, focused and precise, but after the 1st round he became impatient and frustrated which clouded his judgement causing him to get rocked. His chin is solid, his heart is there, but his inexperience with stand up is clear against a striker like Burns. I would fear Chimaev from here on out, he now knows the level of competition he will be facing and will step up his game and increase his training regimen. I feel sorry for his next opponent!

It shouldn’t have been ud for either fighter. Had they given GB a ud then I would’ve also disagreed. After rewatching the fight without audio I still feel like GB should’ve gotten either a sd win or draw. Gilbert did more damage. Overall damage should be the deciding factor over everything.

@@emmy4537 Agree. I thought it would be a draw or a close split decision for either fighter. Khamzat had a lot more damage on his face. Apart from dropping Burns with a straight jab, Gilbert landed more heavy strikes and rocked Khamzat multiple times. Well they both rocked each other. Seems the judges favour the fighter who moves forward, but I don't agree with that "octagon control" scoring system. A lot of fighters are counter strikers and fight moving backwards. Moving forward doesn't necessarily mean you dominated

@@sammydodgers121 Yeah. You could make an argument for either fighter that they won since it was competitive. GB was tired when Khamzat unloaded on him in round 3 but none of them landed clean. Burns gave Khamzat a huge cut on his face with a few hard shots during the last 50 seconds of round 3. Damage should trump all.

I love how generous Uncle Dana is becoming with his money, glad to see it in contrast to people bitching about fighter pay

@@alexmerserr8894 Even if you give Sterling 2 and 3, Yan clearly won 4 and 5. I rewatched round 1 and it's pretty clear Yan won that. Sterlings strikes for the most part were blocked even though he threw a tad more. Yan landed the more significant/impactful strikes. Even if you call those a wash Yan's octagon control should've gave him the 1st. He was literally moving forward and pushing Sterling back the whole round. Either way it was Yan's fight.

Did anyone else think Khamzat was knocked out just a second at the end of 2nd? The bell rings and we was just kinda layn there till burns shoved him off. Looked like he was out just a second. Also right before that burns hits him with the 2 big shots that put him down and looks like burns attempted a soccer kick!! Did anyone else notice that?

Aljo landed 19 significant strikes in round 1; Yan landed 13. Pressure doesn't count for anything if you're outstruck, which Yan was in round 1. Neither fighter landed anything too damaging or meaningful in round one, so Aljo's 19 sig. strikes beat Yan's 13. Aljo won round 1. It's that simple. There's no counterargument to be had for Yan winning that round. Aljo then controls 7 of the next 10 mins of the fight by taking Yan's back and securing a body triangle. Yan wins the last two rounds but doesn't fight with urgency, even though he's been talking shit for a year about how he's going to end Aljo and clearly needs a finish to win. Yan didn't fight with the hunger and passion of a title challenger. If you criticize Aljo's performance in that fight, you need to criticize Yan's performance even more, since he was the challenger and gave a very lackluster and tepid performance.

Seems like he wants Colby vs khamzat more than anything. Dana wants him as champ or just wants a star. Colby is a fighter with a style that’s bad mu for khamzat..and it’s a fight that’ll raise khamzats resume to make sure that usman can’t hide. It also gives khamzat more experience, a better test to learn from, and it’s the only fight that would make sense to headline an event. And Dana probably would want to make headline once before the title w usman

I don’t think Colby has the power to hurt khamzat the way Gilbert did or that he has the chin to take the shots that Gilbert took and also it doesn’t seem like Colby has the size and strength to hold khamzat down if he does get the takedowns. I doubt he’d even take the fight he hasn’t beat anybody whose currently ranked top 15 he’s only beat old washed up fighters
