Couldn’t disagree more… Strickland barely had a scratch on him after the fight… DDP looked wrecked …. At the end of the day what is fighting? If neither one of them got knocked out or submitted then the next thing you look at is who did more damage … Schoolyard rules …. DDP looked like he got hit with a bag of nickels

Strickland clearly won the boxing match while DDP won the MMA match. Strickland landed so many jabs in one small area that naturally the damage in that one area will look so much worse but DDP landed multiple head kicks, brutal body kicks, plenty of leg kicks with hard punches to the head and body. Moving backwards nonstop for 25min while jabbing and occasionally landing a 1-2 is never gonna be seen favourably by any judge. Sean would do amazing in a purely boxing match though. Tough fight and 2 incredible fighters, max respect to both!

@@WegaBoy if everything Sean threw was so damaging then it would have stopped DDP moving forward non-stop by at least the 3rd round. Sean's style is to win by a thousand papercuts and it is very effective against fighters especially when Sean is moving forward but not so much when he is nonstop walking backwards. (regarding bias, obviously! We all have our own bias and I'm sure if you honest you would admit the same. I really like Sean but I'll admit I like DDP a little more)

How much visible damage do you expect to see from body kicks, leg kicks and punches to anywhere other than around the eyes? By your logic Izzy would lose 90% of his fights because there is no visible damage on his opponents even if they barely can walk. 100 punches all delivered to a small area around the eyes and nose will also appear to have cause significantly more damage than 100 as powerful or even more powerful punches delivered to mainly to the body. (the numbers/example I just gave isn't based on the numbers from the fight but just to make the point)

Look at DDPs face. Sean fucked him up. DDP fucked Sean up. I thought Sean did a little more. I thought round 2 was the swing round and i barely gave it to strickland. Though i will say strickland landed more significant strikes but DDP landed a couple of fucking bombs. As a Strickland fan myself i won't say it a robbery that was a close fight but you shouldn't took title in the basis of split descision these type of fight must be a re- match btw that was a very good fight i was shocked of ddp cardio and after seeing his face i know the amount of damage he took and take the fight to last round where sean only got an injury in the eyes 😅

Perhaps throwing jabs while moving backwards nonstop for 25min straight doesn't look impressive on slowmo. Take a tablespoon and wack the thin tissue/skin right under your eye and on your eyebrow 60 or 70 times and it will definitely bruise badly enough to make it look like you were in a proper fight. Not trying to take away from a very close and amazing defensive fight by Sean though. Huge respect to both fighters for delivering the war they promised.

@@simontostee Yeah that’s how fighting works. Health bars aren’t real, hitting a bunch of different spots once and causing no damage shouldn’t win a fight. Hitting the same spot a bunch of times until your opponent breaks is how you win a fight. You’re gonna say leg kick TKOs aren’t real? Body shot TKOs aren’t real? You’ve never even trained have you?
