This is what the UFC should promote more way more than power slap. And/or striking-only matches. Most fight fans enjoy KOs.

First BJJ event I watched all the way through. The UFC is definitely on to something here! Dan Manasoiu's stoisism was something to behold! Man didn't breathe through his mouth once during the whole event. His match with Nicky Rod was pretty exciting I think. Especially that ending! I was deeply impressed by the young blue belts Dan Manasoiu and the 16 year old Helena Creva.

The standing/wrestling part is clearly limited because of the mat size and potential fall of the sides. I would never dare chase a double on such small area. Either do 2 times bigger mats or cage IMO.

O Problema e que os atletas to B-Team, time to Craig Jones, treinan pra ganhar no Overtime...

Constantly interlocking fingers gets you a passivity warning in wrestling in addition to opening your legs up for a shot. Refs hate it, especially at the lower levels, as it leads to kids breaking their fingers. They'll usually slap the wrestlers' hands as a warning first if they keep doing it. So it's just engrained in wrestlers from a young age to not do it. If you do see it it's at the more advanced levels like collegiate and international wrestling where hand fighting techniques are more complex, but even then it just a way to control to an under hook or collar tie. In grappling/ jiu jitsu you can defend shots with chokes so interlocking fingers and having a standing stance isn't as big of a deal. I hope grappling/jiu jitsu gets rid of it along with guard pulling I feel it's 25% of the match sometimes.
