It’s the side effect of his ear surgery from years ago….. selective hearing. 😂
@hmmob3956
Жыл бұрын
One of his ears (I believe it is his left ear) is deaf. He told the story a long time ago. In his Boston years he was jumped by a gang and got the 'sh____i/t' beaten out of him. Since that beating the affected ear had significantly reduced hearing. It is assumed that that was an important cause in him developing Meniere's disease. He then had that experimental surgery in L.A. (which did not work) to help with that disease, where they completely cut some nerve to the ear, which then presumably led to him becoming completely deaf in that ear. When you have limited hearing in one ear, and you have background noise, for example, during a press conference, you do have a hard time discerning what is being said. If he sat in a quiet room with one interviewer, he would hear much better. I speak of my own experience. P.S.: And it can vary substantially in terms of the voice of the person who you are listening to. So, somebody who has such hearing problems may, for example, have a hard time with female voices as opposed to male voices and vice versa. Add to that that many interviewers are not native speakers of English and have at times strong accents and it makes it even more difficult to hear for the person affected.

Dana going ham in this presser 💀🤣
Wheres the volume!!? I guess it's quite far away there.....
@3:40 Yes Dana it was indeed based on round one on the scorecards. All judges gave Round 2 to Yan, Round 3 to Sean. Round one is based on if you value volume strikes over grappling . The rules state damage deciding factor, but if equal then who won the striking, then if equal then grappling, and if all those are equal, you resort to aggression/ control. This decision was exactly what all people watching thought, a controversial split decision edging both ways. I personally scored it 29-28 O'Malley too. Close damage but O'Malley had more significant strikes more often to me round 1 and new rules stop you there. But I totally understand someone giving it to Yan for the striking + grappling edge for sure, however he didn't get in ground and pound or submission attempts, merely gained control time without damage, striking or grappling attacks. The takedowns themselves fall below damage and striking evaluation under new rules. All 10-9 rounds are not the same, but shame the scoring style is one borrowed from a 10+ round Boxing system. The sheer stat differential in the third in Omalley's favor, landing 40 significant strikes to Yan's 15, rocked Yan and landed the biggest damaging shot of the entire fight, that knee (cut the entire length of eyebrow on Yan)... baffles me how some people are claiming 30-27 Yan... Absurd. 29-28 for either guy is the correct decision, entirely hinging on round 1. Man I ramble
Petr champ!!!
If the UFC or someone else see this message, i want to say about the controversy about the O'Malley Yan fight, that a fight like that especially so close like that deserve an immediate rematch. Obliviously three rounds wasn't enough for them especially for someone like Yan, personally i ask for an immediate rematch before the end of the year or early next year, 5 rounds in the Apex. The winner gets the title shot, make it happen, i don't think Sean deserve the title shot after a so close fight like that.
Is this video insanely quiet for everyone else? At max volume I can almost barely hear it
Tip: Let the intervieuwer type the question in front so that Dana can read it for itself during the question asked on that moment.. Every time this Helicopter is around or when there's noise he cant hear the Question asked... Problem Solved then. It also accures he did read/heard the question in the right form., because some little words not good interpurated can change the whole outcome of the answer been given... Delete the errors that keep repeating over and over again.. ty for reading this . greets from Holland
UFC starting to look like wwe with O'Malley , brutal

I am still waiting for someone to make a Dana White video of where he is trying to hear the question during press conferences. This video could last for hours...
Belal "Remember the deci.. well damn. I actually had him winning, but didn't expect a finish. It's time to start taking him seriously.
Yan got the worst luck with scorecards
i appreciate Dana so much, man. seriously this guy is a legend will be in history books 📕
What's up with the audio on this event? It was terrible live and even in this press conference Dana is nearly inaudible until 2:25 when they just turn his volume up to 100.

Same here, had it since 2001, never stops and makes hearing anything damn near impossible. Dana should really transcribe all the questions to his phone or something, make his life alot easier at these pressers
10:10 Lmao 😂 I have a hard time understanding thick accents too
By the current rules of UFC, Yan obviously won. So why are those judges needed? If they do so many mistakes, maybe there should be other mechanism to decide who won, such as voting, slow motion video reviews, etc. Every time the judges get it wrong, everyone says "don't let the decision reach the judges" Most decisions WILL reach the judges, knockouts and submissions are much more rare than a decision win. There is an urgent need for an improved judging of fights that reach decisions. It's a serious issue that requires serious attention.
i think fighters should be able to bet on themselves by K.O no money line, no decision, no over, or under, by K.O only or submission, so basically finish bets.
Islams stand and pound was so impressive during this fight, I was not expecting that from him, Oliveira looked a bit cold from the start, he hesitated at times with his attacks and he wasn’t fluent as we’ve known him to be in the past, Oliveira will be back

Oliviera is wildly too reckless with his attacks. Can get away with it vs weak opponents, his head movement is worst in the division. If he kept a better distance he could have won this fight via a decision 100%

Oliviera pulled guard in rd 1, essentially throwing the fight against someone like Islam. Unless he's majorly hurt, Islam is NOT going to make a mistake and get submitted on the mat. I've talked that decision pretty in depth with some friends who are close to the sport and the only conclusion we could come to is that Charles was simply overwhelmed in the moment and defaulted to what he knew best. Islam probably hit a lot harder or countered him more easily than he expected and he wasn't comfortable on the feet
