I remember LHW Division used to be the most competitive division at the time when Jones arrived on the scene. It was swarming with rankers like Shogun, Machida, Rampage, Rashad etc. And Jones just wiped the floor with all of them and instantly became apex predator in the divison.

Don Atta absolutely, he has his controversies but he’s been the champ throughout multiple eras and he’s still going! He has put on some masterful performances, he has put on some wars, and he has put on some very entertaining finishes! Multiple title Defences, never truly been defeated, and nobody has really dominated him yet, there has been Reyes maybe Gus but to be honest he was never dominated in those fights, they were very close! I actually had Jones winning those fights

Damn, Jones finishing Lyoto Machida is probably the most ruthless and scariest walk off finish I've ever seen ..

Bones was groundbreaking when he arrived, I'd been watching UFC and Pride for a couple years at this point, he was great for the sport. And talk about GOAT..the only other fighter in the picture is Anderson, and the reason I say that is because between the two of them they made title defense after title defense, against the best of the best at the time and they did it in true style. EVERY SINGLE fight had people on the edge of their seats and each time they delivered magic. Khabib, GSP (DJ was also incredible, can't forget him)...on paper sure, they are up there but they didn't entertain like Bonesy or Silva.

That spinning elbow on Gustawson was some movie ninja shit damnn so beautiful 🥶

This sounds like a good piece. I’m glad the UFC still makes content outside of the ESPN MMA Channel.

To watch Jones's debut, with nine months training in MMA, you wouldn't believe it. He was obviously an accomplished wrestler, he was strong, fit, could clearly fight, but his striking was reckless. The best UFC fighter I've ever seen by far, the most exciting and unpredictable. Bones and the Spider.. but Bones is the greatest of all time. That's why the out of the ring drama is so disappointing.

Imagine if he didn’t have all those controversies... The hit and run, the small amounts of drugs in his system has always been a problem for his GOAT argument, the drunk driving.. If he didn’t have all of those problems we would never have seen DC become champ, we would’ve seen AJ fight Jones, We would’ve seen him have close to 20 title Defences! Only person I can think of that is close to that is GSP (Jones has beaten that record anyway) He would be around 35+ fights, he would have gotten a lot better imo! We could even have seen him fight at Heavyweight by now! He would have been solidified as the GOAT without question!

@@coolguyshea8472 He didn't beat Chael because Chael was overrated and also a juicer. Also, he kneed Chael in the face while he was down, so that didn't help anything. Jones is a dumb idiot who's scared to actually fight, that's why he stands seven feet away from his opponents and uses his inhumanly long limbs to rack up points and win by decision. Anderson Silva walked up to his opponents with his hands down and still fucked them up. Fedor Emalianenko brutalized everyone and without shooting steroids up his leg.

@ROHIT Palukuri Before Ngannou knocked Stipe out, Stipe clipped him bad cause ngannou's defense is pretty bad, Stipe's mistake was to go directly to Ngannou, in a situation like that, Jones would've finished Ngannou for sure.

He did get tagged in round 1 by Machida when he dropped his hands on the kick and Machida timed it just right. But he realized it in round 2 and avoided the counter again.

This guy is just an incredibly gifted, lucky human being. He is able to remain calm throughout most anything. A high percentage of his strikes land and are effective. He ties it all together so well. We are lucky to see him in our lifetime. He will be the greatest ever!

It wasnt a vitor situation he was never proven to have taken them, and whilst I think he most likely did, I know this sport I've been watching it since ufc 3 live, and with or without steroids he's the goat. Anderson and gsp are right behind him but I believe jones beats anyone, any weight division in the ufc.

His elbow hasn't been the same since Hamill smashed it with his skull.

Glover said in an interview in Portuguese that Jones almost broke his arms during a clinch at the first round. It was the fight he got screwd the most. That was before his war against Prozasca though.

I've been watching his fight since he was 20 yrs old.. still undefeated
