What a fight… Have to say every minute of every round was explosive. Definitely among my top 10 fights EVER!!!

Chad was so good man. He has come so close to beating so many good guys lol. Obviously Aldo is amazing. Now he is boxing and he looks like hes been doing it forever.

Chad is made of steel!! The stamina the punches he absorver and the pressure of the must hungry crowd in the world and he was still game throughout the whole time - hats off to the hottie 👊🏼

This was the second mma fight I ever watched. It’s the fight that really brought me into the mma world and made me fall in love with it. Kept thinking how Aldo was such a beast in this one. So vicious with his lightning fast counters, his aggression, his signature leg kicks. Wanted Mendes to win tho. Man seeing this back then was so insane. This is how an mma title fight should really be. This is the kind of fight you should show to a newbie to get them into mma. This fight along with Jones vs Gustaffson 1 and Lawler vs MacDonald 2 imo.

5:07, Is still one of the craziest counters and most insane examples of reflexes I’ve ever seen in combat sports. Aldo, in his prime was fast enough to slip and counter a damn jab. That’s rare to see even in boxing let alone MMA during the mid 2010s.

@@gamingperson1 The counter he used is what’s impressive. The normal counter for a jab is to come over the top with a straight cross. Aldo slipped and sidestepped into the outside to counter Chad’s jab with a hook. That’s a way harder counter to pull off.

This is EXACTLY the fight that changed my view on LEVELS achievable by fighters . when I was watching it long time ago I couldn't believe this is real time speed , combos they throw , highest lvl of counters , list goes on. Masterpiece as it is !!! Edit : also Dillashaw vs Barrao fight that show me real chess match , how one fighter was able to pin point weaknesses of his aponent and outsmart him into a trap. Masterclass .

It’s on Aldo to know when the bell rings. You have to control your weapons. Great fight by both fighters.

That duck then uppercut combo is my favorite. Doesn't seem to get landed often.
