Lets be real, no one believed Gaethje would win this fight. Poirier is much more complete than Justin and he should have won but he lost because of that guy called awakenbeerus. Dustin literally had 2 significant punches the whole round while getting schooled for 4:30 seconds of that round and he literally didn't land a single clean shot in round 2 either Gaethje schooling continued until the headkick. You can always tell how professional fighters are by how the respond to the end of the round horn. Both fighters went straight back to respect and stayed locked in, both are incredibly high level fighters

Max must have done his hw and listened to DC’s commentary. He noticed that Justin drops down and covers his head to block certain kicks, but this doesn’t work against roundhouse kicks so Max exploited this

Love the obvious respect during the fight between these two top of the game competitors. It's crazy how well they can fight and still give nods to the other fighter when they score.

This is a hard one as a DP fan, he was fighting so well in the first round.

I give both these guys despite their losses such huge respect. Both of them are exciting fighters with but with a touch of class as well.

Dustin and Justin are like those 2 rivals in a Tv show, they try to outdo each other every time, with one of them having the upper hand each time, but they share respect with each other, which makes both of the characters likeable.

I literally jumped out of my chair seeing this live. I did not think this fight was going to end in a finish. Let alone a head kick.

Crazy how underrated Joe Rogan, Jon Anik, and Daniel "D.C." Cormier are as a commentary team; they work so well together. Every single commentator for UFC is great rn, Dominick Cruz, Paul Felder, Michael Bisping, that one American colour commentator, Dan Hardy. Joe Rogan, Jon Anik, and Daniel "D.C." Cormier are so underrated.

We don't make excuses but Dustin came into this fight with a bad injury, had a rough weight cut, and simply got caught with a hail mary. He fought at 30% and he's a warrior because of that. Dustin is now the number 1 contender and should fight Islam next. I REALLY hope he can reclaim that gold this time. Nobody deserves it more than him.
