    I'm very curious how Yoel will do when Luke takes him down. Yoel seems to let people take him down, knowing he can just get up. But Luke's top game has always been deadly (having been with D.C., Cain and Khabib at AKA). I'm curious if that'll factor into it, if Yoel will not give him take downs or if Luke's game changed being with Hooft now.

  • @clintoneddy2860

    Icon Panik I think it’s the opposite will Luke be taken down by Olympic wrestler and will his killer jj be affective against him. The reaper made the blue print, keep him at range and build attacks with more intensity as rnd 2 and onwards Yoel will gas and Rockhold destroys him. Rockhold chin is the worry

  • @josephb456

    @josephb456

    6 жыл бұрын

    Icon Panik One of the nice things about Luke having that really impeccable top game, is that even though he’s working with Hooft a lot (presumably), as long as he has some top tier wrestlers to train over, he can maintain those TG skills. My concern comes with stand up out of a new camp. It’s always a toss up as to whether or not a new coach tries to change a fighter’s game (an obvious mistake imo) or hone and add tools to an already effective toes down approach. Luke’s stand up is very good, just had some holes and tightening up that needed to be addressed. I do think Luke takes Yoel down, it’s really up to Yoel what the outcome is there. If he has a dialed in game in terms of scrambling, it’ll make it a better fight.

    I am a Romero fan but, I wasn't aware that Luke had such a longer reach advantage. He is a huge MW, probably the biggest in stature. 6"3 is very tall for a MW, and he could easily fight at LHW or even HW. I am very certain he has more muscle oxygen than Romero, as well as Cardio-Endurance. Luke has many tools and MMA experience to win this fight. I don't see Romero winning this.

    Pierre rockhold also does has weakness espescially in striking defense, even the last match against david branch he showed to be open and slightly stunned (he can handle it well, but imagine if romero is the one who hit luke) and remember that bisping KO rockhold cause he open his chin

    Luke is genetically very blessed with one of those ideal fighter frames. He maintains a good amount of muscle, has extremely long limbs, and carries lots of power in his lower body, with a lot of leverage up top. I stood next to him at an expo or something awhile back, I’m 6’ 190... He swamped me. I was absolutely dwarfed by the dude. I’m hoping he’s worked on his boxing/ head movement and defense. I think Darren Till would be a great example for him to work from, as their stance is a bit analogous. We shall see! Yoel loves to hang out some seriously gnarly punches.

    Here’s how I see Rockhold winning this fight. Avoid the power shots and explosive combos of Yoel by utilizing footwork and sticking to the outside. If he can avoid Yoel’s big shots for 2-3 rounds, Yoel will start to tire out and Rockhold can welcome the clinch against the fence and utilize his elite grappling to take it to the floor and employ his top game (best top game in the Middleweight division). I know Yoel has an amazing wrestling pedigree but once he gets tired, Luke’s ability to take it to the floor will be hard to stop. I see Luke winning via TKO or submission rounds 3-4. What are your thoughts?

Rockhold looked stiff , much slower than Romero, didn’t look strong , didn’t take advantage of his height and reach advantage , didn’t pressure or overwhelm Romero at any point , displayed awful defensive stance ..... My fingers are getting tired from typing all the missteps in Rockholds gameplan, so I’ll stop here 😏

    I think rockhold is going to sub romero. Romero is probably going to look to ko rockhold within the first 2 rounds and is going to avoid the grappling as luke's long legs and bjj are going to make it hard for him to inflict damage after taking him down.

  • @johnpershing6859

    Im right handed and am very comfortable standing south-paw. I think this developed as my grappling skills developed. Also, my jab was stinging people, but wasn't allowing me time to counter like i wanted. So as i practiced south paw i found my field of vision was better and i had new weapons and am quite better in my reactions. I can stop people with a jab and in counter method am able to grab my opponent faster with my power hand. Also, i suggest to anybody interested in martial arts to practice weapons first. The reason is that you use and develop BOTH sides of your body simultaneously. When you do this your reactions are better and you develop many levels faster in hand to hand combat or sparring
