He says he dont care but that obviously is not the case cuz he wants everyone to see h as the warrior he so he does actually care. I just wish he would say what he shows. He took some killer shots from burns and showed us his metal. I cant wait till that one guy comes along and beats him if nothing more than making him show how much he really does care. I think it is really just how his English translates. He, chimaev, has such a smooth game especially in his transitioning. He is very relaxed when he's fighting it just looks like it's always been just a natural thing for him, ( his fighting ability that is. )

Translation of the questions asked in Russian (the end of the video) “Key Khamzat, in the first round you managed to successfully wrestle with Gilbert, but later on you did not really try to take him down, why is that? Did you feel any kind of threat or your coaches set a particular goal? - “No, there was no threat for me. The initial plan was to show him some wrestling and my strength in that department so would second guess himself and allow me to beat him up easier. All in all, I wasn’t in danger. - “You dropped him with the jab first, why do you think you couldn’t finish him after that and how close do you feel you were to doing that? - “I don’t know, I don’t even remember how close I was. I recall that I dropped him and wanted to go for a finish, but then I figured that he starts swinging and I couldn’t find the target properly, that’s why I thought of allowing him to stand up and try to knock him down (out) again. It is what it is (about how it eventually went down). - “What about your interaction with Gilbert’s children, did it happen before the fight and what (how) happened? - Yeah, I met them in the hotel the day before the fight. I went down to the lobby and they were passing by and said:” oh it’s you who fights our daddy”. I was like: “oh shit, I am not really willing to see (somebody’s) children right before the fight, you know, think about his (Gilbert’s) family. I am an emotional guy and it’s hard for me to see kids at fights. I would never bring my own children to (see) fights.

People still doesnt realize that MMA maths doesnt work and a fight can just change completely in a single moment by a single strike. If anything that was a tough match up for Khamzat cause he was afraid to use his biggest weapon against Burns which is wrestling and Gilbert is no joke as well, in papers Colby should be an easier match up for khamzat, as for Usman we don't know yet.

@@xZZTop bro you to have realize this is his 4th fight in WW and first “main” event fight against the 2nd best WW in the world. He almost finished burns in the end of first round with that jab but Burns brought it back in the 2nd round. As a rational fan I see the potential in khazmat to be the best in his division,he has all the tools. But a performance like tonight won’t beat usman or Israel just yet. He will only get better and better and maybe next year he will become that level. Right now Colby and him is the match to make to see if he learned from his mistakes in this fight.

His problem was that he didn't listen to his coach. If he had listened, he would have thrown himself more into wrestling and controlled things after the first round. From there, he could have played Khabib style, just stayed on top of his opponent, and won at the end of round 3 just because he controlled the match, and no one would have had anything to comment on. Khamzat didn't want that, he wanted to take the whole fight standing, because he underestimated Gilbert, and wanted to prove that he's not like Khabib, and that he can stand vs such monsters without fear..
