People forget about Randy Couture. Doing the stuff he did. First man to win belts in two weight classes. First man to become champion over 40 years old. One of the most dominant wrestlers and a competent grappler that even went to the ground with world champion BJJ guys like Gonzaga and even had a grappling match with Ronaldo Souza. How is this man not in GOAT conversations when he's done stuff that the GOATs probably only currently dream of doing.

It's clear this truly was a different time where you could fight a killer at any moment's notice. It's a big part in why the records were so muddy as no one ducked anyone and fought all styles and monsters. You only see rare instances like Tito ducking Chuck for ages. It's just another instance of Randy the Natural being one of the greatest to ever do it. He destroyed Chuck in that first fight despite Tito, the younger man, hiding from him.

Both fought good. And yes Chuck knocks Randy out later in some fights.but good skills from both camps.and with all the information out there and film. You can't be unbeatable. There are peaple watching your strategy, and building a defense plan. Best plan is to be versatile, strong. And evolve into a well rounded fighter. I think GSP who looked up to couture as a role model, proved his abilities to be great and greater..later in his bouts.
