    It only took Conor 30 seconds to realize the uppercut would work against Marcus....pretty impressive how he just stays calm in the pocket even when opponent is throwing non-stop.

    Probably the most fluid and composed fighting style of his time. Whatever you think of McGregor now, the way he fought and moved was truly unprecedented in the UFC at the time and the excitement he created centred mainly around what he was doing inside the ring than outside of it.

    his first couple fights in the UFC was the most beautiful display of martial arts I'd ever seen. the striking the movement and like you say, the fluidity, was just poetry in motion.. its what inspired me to get back in the gym and start boxing again. best decision i ever made.

    Apart from the obvious striking ability, Connors footwork is beyond exceptional , he can just glide any direction at anytime without anyone knowing until it's done.

    The way he just slows down in the heat of battle, eyes down his opponent like an eagle locking in on prey, and just finds an angle to accurately land a punch like a hellfire missile with virtually no effort, it’s just incredible.

    Even from his first fight, there was something other-worldly about Connor's precision, timing and accuracy. You could see the generational talent from a mile away. He really seemed to be floating on air during his fights.

    its kinda sad. you think of conors glory after this fight and then you look at marcus brimmage who two years later got cut and know works god knows what and has failed, while conor is a multi millionair with a family. crazy how paths go

    Conor's early career and then his dismantling of the UFC 145 and 155 divisions right up to Khabib is a thing of beauty. A truly legendary rise and reign. So many great moments. No matter what's happened afterwards with the mixed success at 170 and other endeavours, you can't take that away from him. Special, special talent.

    I'll never forget when I watched this fight on replay, and I was shocked. I've never seen anyone throw crazy strikes like that, with such bravado and power. You knew right away that he was a special talent, and unlike anyone in UFC history. He looked like a champion, right out of the gate.
